Obviously the Soto comp is typical Shady being way over the top, but it is true that almost every offseason teams end up in a bidding war over one player that looked like a mid-tier value target until everyone that wanted him starts overbidding. It kind of seems Donovan is that player this year. Should bode well for the Cardinals.

That's my point on Donovan being that current hot player. If the Yankees are, indeed, offering Dominguez and LaGrange. That's a pretty good start to what the Nationals got for Soto.

You Bozos are really good at ridicule. But you lack creativity. You offer very little that stimulates good baseball thoughts and discussion. Anybody can try to be be an anonymous internet bully like what seems to thrill you. And if you feel I'm just trying to seek attention. Do the prudent thing and not give it to me.
It is not creativity when you post the same garbage over and over again. Look up creativity in the dictionary, you aren't it!

at least he spelled "Soto" correctly this time. And not "Sosa"
No one other than Shady believes Donovan will bring back 4-5 Future TOP 100 prospects.
3 WAR < 6 WAR.
Yes, bidding wars or threat of said bidding wars drive up prices, but not by that much.

Heck Duce, if Bloom is "Savvy" enough, he will not settle for a Soto-type return. He has failed unless he gets an Ohtani and a couple of their top pitching prospects back in return. Sound about right?

I don't care about Dominguez. I read the thread where everyone else is talking about this. Most people are focusing on the wrong person. Dominguez is a chump with a limp.
LaGrange is the real prize....maybe? Gamble with him....60 walks last year....that Walk Rate was an improvement over his previous efforts, but...like I said, he's a "Gamble"....the K rate is super supreme. Slight chance of FOTR starter, More of a chance of a Back End Reliever. Basically....Power Arm, Power Slider....Control doesn't exist with him.
Again...a Gamble. We have several Gambles in the system already...Franklin, CLarke, Doyle, Clemente....do we need more? At what point is it too much?
I'd take him, though....it's a gamble, but I'd try my best to find a different suitor.

Per BTV:
CJ Abrams ($47.1M)
Robert Hassell ($38.7M)
Mackenzie Gore ($29.6M)
James Wood ($25.6M)
Jarlin Susana ($2.5M)
Luke Voit (-$0.5M)
Total: $143M
Vs.
Dominguez ($21.3M)
Lagrange ($10M)
Total: $31.3M
Yep, very similar hauls . . . Only $111.7M to go!

As I posted, "a pretty good start". Let the high stakes bidding continue. By the way, I'll take Lagrange (10M) over Gore (29.6M) for the future. It would be hard to turn down if the Yankees add another high level prospect to the offer.

So you think “high stakes bidding” will drive the price of Donovan up 357% from the speculative offer you mentioned, and 345% above his current est. BTV value?
Good luck with that.

not a good start....it's "A" start, but not a "good" one. Other teams have better starts.
And we're not even 15% sure this is reliable info....it's 2 fans doing a podcast. They have no insight into the everyday workings of the Front Office of the Yankees. Even beat writers don't have that much sway...but you'd trust the beat writers over the PodCasters in need of Clicks and Listens.

Obviously, Donovan won't bring the Soto haul. I was referring to a comparable bidding war scenario. I'm sorry I didn't make that more clear.

you didn't say that in your OP about a Bidding War...JohnnyMo is correct, you over sensationalize all the time. You made the "Sosa/Soto" comp with a Masyn Winn trade a few months ago....remember that? So your back-tracking claim now is null/pure B.S.
