That is not conjecture; it is what I saw when watching him in person.
The thought is terrifying.
As terrifying as it would be going from Nolan to Gorman on defense his offense is even more terrifying.

I don’t know what will be worse watching him in the field or watching him at the plate. He’s going to suck again and posters will say but but he’s only 26 you can’t give up on that power!

He was drafted as a third basemen. I'm not sure he stands out anywhere defensively, but he should be able to play third decently. With Winn at short, you cover up a little lack of range. If he gets 600 plate appearances next year it will be because of how he hits more than how he fields.
Lol. JW was drafted as a 3rd baseman too, as was Bumbles.
Bumbles is LH, he was never drafted as a 3B. Never played the position...he can't.

I wish they would trade both Nado and Gorman. Between 2nd and 3rd could have Wetherholt, Saggase, and Fermin or another free agent or young player in trade.

Nado and Gorman are not the future in STL.

Everyone forgets about Fermin, unless he is an add-on to some trade.
I saw him play and was impressed. I like his approach, intensity and long period of control.
And his line was solid: .283/.377/.417/.793. As was his defense.
Sometimes guys who don't have the bright light on them surprise.

Over the last few years Gorman has proved that he can't run very good, can't field very good and can't hit very good. Why would you want a player like that on this team? For those that still want him please enlighten me with your logic in this, because it sounds to me like you don't want to improve the team.

Agreed on several fronts. Fermin is a roster player. And Gorman. I’ve never seen a worse attempt to play third. If that is his position going forward then the issues with the org go much deeper than players.

I expect that taking a hard look at what to do with Gorman - both defensively and offensively - is probably a priority item for the Cardinals this offseason and into ST.

This has been mentioned. But still plays- how does Bloom feel about former regime players. Is there no skin in the game for him? Or purely business.

If anything, I would expect Bloom to be less wedded to, and more objective regarding, evaluating players he didn't acquire.

Exactly my thought. With that in mind, puts Gorman on the proverbial fence.

By years end he was improving but still below league average.

The arm is fine satch, he just can't make the off balance throws as well as the greats we've been spoiled w/here (NADO, Rolen, Reitz, even Pendleton and Obie).

His range to his left is mitigated by M. Winn's great range and arm to his right!

Coming in on balls is a nightmare,

I'd have my non-power, fastest hitters bunting on him all day.

But he's only going to be at 3rd base, after NADO is dealt, to really do one thing and that'(poop) HR's.

Do that 25-30+ times and we'll live w/the defensive flaws, switching him out late in games the Cards have the lead.

Can't always switching him out or you deplete your bench. Have to have a 3rd baseman who is capable defensively of playing 9 innings.

may be one of the worst 3bman I've seen going north and south. He struggles on slow rollers, and I've even seen him slow down to avoid having to make the play.
