he was unjustly ridiculed because of the injury and only because of the injury.
Unjustly? Blowing a knee is a 9 month setback in development....and I think he had a concussion issue too.
But the point is he was very highly regarded prior and those injuries didnt justify the "pick is a bust" but thats the nature of this forum
People that don't know any better expect instant results from first round picks but it's extremely rare to have a teenage defender in the NHL.
I get that he dropped because of the injury....I need to look at who was picked instead of him and how they're progressing before I could make an unnecessarily early and uneducated judgment on how it's playing out so far.
Replying to this one because it's later in the chain. I get the reasoning for the drop. I don't get immediately saying it's a bust pick because the guy has injury concerns. You only get him at the Blues pick because of the injury concerns. At least that was the speculation when he was drafted. There's also the other side to that, did the Blues take him earlier than other teams value that same injury concern? Who knows, but he certainly wouldn't have dropped out of the 1st. Again, the only reason I think the Blues took him when they did was because they identified that they had a lot of irons in the fire in regards to the forward positions. They only had 1 solid defender. This was their chance to get a real blue chip prospect with some risk tied to him. It's the proper gamble if you ask me.
It works even better now that they have Broberg and LM on the team. LM still a flight risk. But now you have Broberg (assuming you can get a deal done) and Lindstein as what should be no doubters. And then hopefully you get 1 or 2 of Jiricek and LM to work out long term. Gives you 3 guys of your 6 minimum that should be long term guys to build around. Not the worst place to be in. Not exactly a position of strength either. So still work to be done.

I talked about how disappointing his last season was while it was unfolding, I understand any negative observation is trolling, and it sucks to be a troll or not just by the way players themselves play
Can I get a troll badge too since I was very skeptical of his injury history and his stick figure body at the draft when he walked to the podium and ya couldnt see him when he was sideways?
This is the stupid sheeet I refer to when people are too positive and cant look at situations honestly, even when its objective, or when they’re at the other end of the spectrum and find everything negative. It’s lame, played out, and idiotic.
Ill continue to speak my mind whether it be positive, negative, and everything in between, and whoever doesn’t like it can go FT. You’re what’s wrong with this dump, not the posters who dare find fault or praise sometimes and it upsets the fringe faction who hate common sense.

Speaking just for myself, your observations on prospects are appreciated. I don’t think anyone considers you a troll for any negative comments on players. Your comments on Jiricek’s progress this season have been encouraging - not all positive, but still encouraging. But there are plenty of others on here that immediately labeled Jiricek a bust and closed the book on him,,,,at 18-years old! That’s crazy.
Thanks Frank! I have been accused of being a Blues troll for 25 years. In fact on HF the warped place that it has become, considers me one of its worst posters. I rejoined here after the mod there, Missouri Mook, told me he had contempt for me but it also wasn't't personal. The level of mental damage that some of the regulars there have is too much and I had numerous bags of human [shirt] who hateposting me literally every time I posted, and while there were about a dozen people who thought it was super (bleep) up, they weren't going to do or say anything. I was literally in the process of posting the video of Jiricek getting hurt Feb 5 last year when they banned me without even the courtesy of a reason.
So I have a certain empathy for the pile on target. Because I believe I have amply demonstrated here how much bull[shirt] those unreliable narrators are full of.
