The contract says WC can’t be easily moved and he previously confirmed he wanted to stay.
Yet this may be end up an example of how the mind/body can be manipulated once other dominoes start to fall.
Please poceed with the Bloom PSYOPs on the hard headed players.
His contract ain’t that bad.

His salary is almost identical to the salary Josh Naylor just got in the open market for almost identical offensive production and Willson's defense is better. His contract is also shorter.

Looks like a path where Boston could keep a Bregman and get a 1B without playing
in the deeper waters of an Alonso.

If he wants to win, then StL isn't the place...that simple. Cards are probably not gonna be relevant until the end of the decade or later.

Okay new info...........or is it?
Seems he's been open to waiving the NTC "if he finds the new team to be a good fit" since the end of the season.
Unlike S. Gray & NADO who made it pretty clear given their age they wanted out, I don't see anything new in Katie's reporting other than he "now seems more willing" to waive it.
It's still going to have to be to a team he feels is a "fit", same as he said at seasons end.
I'll keep calling the Brewers as a fit. Even though rumors say they will limit payroll. They could use the bat. A 99 win team should go for it.
Just get over trading within the division.
The Brewers can't afford him RS.
B. Woodruff accepting the QO has put them in a payroll crunch which could see them even dealing Peralta!
NO WAY the Cardinals would eat one dime to send him to the hated Brewers.
Vaughn sucks. Our WC is 2 WAR better. Cardinals eat the $5M buyout in 2028. They can bring Vaughn off the bench or trade him.
The Contreras hermanos go for a championship together. Keep Yelich and Peralta and go for it.
My chips are on a Brewers trade. Might not be the most likely but I should be getting odds on my bet.
Scratch my above RS.
It's come out today that the Brewers are now incline to go into the season w/Peralta.
But there's still no way whatsoever the Cardinals are eating one red cent to help the Brewers, never happening (IMO).

rock, How about sending Contreras with some cash to the Nationals for MacKenzie Gore?
https://www.msn.com/en-us/sports/mlb/th ... 1a4f&ei=12
Gore is indeed available
Only thing that may nix that idea is WillyC's only going to waive his NTC to go to a WS contender and the Nats certainly aren't.

Would love to see him moved and Alec Burleson at first base for 2026.

For some reason, some here feel Burleson is not an even an average defensive first baseman. And I just can't see where they are coming from with that.

Burly career at 1st base is a -1 DRS/-2 OAA.
He's a below average 1st baseman, perhaps he'd improve to league average if there FT should WillyC be dealt.

What are Burleson's deficiencies at first base? How did his numbers last season compare to his career numbers?

He ranks in the bottom 12% in Fielding Run Value, his range is very poor in the bottom 14% of MLB.
No improvement yr-o-yr at 1st base.
He's a solid hitter, below average fielder at 1st base.
He would be a downgrade defensively from WillyC.

Why would anyone bother doing the research for you when everyone knows you’re operating entirely in bad faith?

You sure know something about "operating entirely in bad faith". You are the worst offender on CT. Terribly narrow-minded and a trouble-maker.

How so, Shady? Provide some specific examples. You clearly don’t know what that term means.
You only care about facts and data when they fit your preferred narrative—when they don’t, you actively and willfully avoid/ignore them.
