This linked MSN article refers to a reporter in The Athletic speculating that the Tigers
should make a run at Bregman if they decide to keep Skubal. And
that is your basis for saying “it appears Bregman won’t be returning to the Red Sox”?
Please stop.
I just accommodated a request. Cool your jets.
But your “source” article doesn’t support your thread title, topic, or premise. 82birds was asking you to support your claim that “it appears that Bregman won’t be returning to the Red Sox.” It now seems clear that you had/have no basis or support for that claim.

So you’re keeping all the salary and adding a prospect?
The Cardinals might have to eat some salary in order to get Garcia. Maybe some for Arenado this upcoming season. The following season he's fairly reasonably priced.
you've been told over and over again that the Cards aren't getting a Top Prospect for Arenado. CT has told you, Pundits have told you.
No amount of eaten contract will pry the #85 overall prospect from the Red Sox.
Once again, they'll likely get an expiring contract so the other team can offset their cost. And maybe a DSL/FCL/Low A lottery ticket that hits .680 OPS, K's a lot, but hits HR's when he makes contact.
I;m not so sureabout that. It depends on how badly a team needs a fairlt dependable 3B. And how much of Arenado's salary the Cardinals would send.
That's on you...you refuse to accept reality....compare the two players. It's rather simple, even for you.
Oh really? You aren't right about everything. Ex. The Silver Slugger.
it's not me being right, Marshall. It's everyone else's assessment as well.
Gotcha' Guru. You never ever are off the mark on baseball projections. Wrong.

His problem is he doesn't know when he is outclassed! He calls you "Guru", but he is the one who acts like he is a "Guru" because he refuses to listen to common sense or any opinion that doesn't fit his agenda. He also must not understand the difference between a contract that is a good value, vs. one that is completely underwater. I said in another thread, we need a Shady Face Palm emoji on this site.

But I know a future Silver Slugger when I see one. Something that escaped many hotshots on CT. Just maybe some of those hotshots were the ones outclassed.

Yes, I agree. I don’t know how anyone could jump to the conclusion that AB is gone from the Bosox. Unless that conclusion makes another conclusion fit better. It’s kind of a house of cards.

Are you suggesting we sign Bergman to replace Nado? That’s a move that could improve us.

My money says he will be a Red Sox. But if not Arenado is a possibility. But don’t expect a big return unless he is a part of a package deal.

I would say there is at least a chance that Bregman goes back to the Red Sox. But if the Red Sox would sign say Pete Alonso instead then I can see the possibility of them being interested in the cheaper Arenado for 3B. I don’t see much of a return for Arenado unless we eat some salary like the Gray deal. I don’t know much about prospects, if the Red Sox signed Alonso and traded for Arenado would anyone be interested in Casas or Mayer as the return?
