Just my opinion, but obviously he would want to go to a contender. However i think he would significantly favor a contender like Philly or Boston that have the short porches or where the ball flies like AZ. He knows he has no power anymore. If he went to Seattle he couldn't hit a ball out of that park to save his life

But then again, he turned down the Crawford boxes last year so what do i know

I really think an Arenado for Castellanos move could make sense. Maybe a minor league throw in from the Phillies too.

I guess it just depends on the market for Arenado. If the market is really weak, might make sense to get a lottery ticket like Nick C., hoping he rebounds in a new environment before flipping in July.

When things aren't heating up, one of the 'insiders' (to stir the pot I guess ) comes out with a report

Insider (fill in the blank ) says in addition to these 3 teams(usually will name them ) that have inquired about Nolan Arenado , there is a 4th 'mystery' team that has discussed Arenado with Chaim Bloom .

Now with the Winter Meetings 37 days away, I suspect that we may soon have the 'mystery' team announcement forthcoming. :D

Anyone on CT care to speculate on a 'mystery' team ? I sure have no clue ..it's a mystery to me !
I think a lot of these rumors are fueled by agents.

It's not horrible.
The Cards will be close to having to pay half to move NA
and will be very lucky to receive a return.
With Nick you get a player who is probably more likely to
be an average hitter and stay on the field, probably save $15 in 2026, and
as you say can be flipped.

I just don't see NA being a choice for Philly unless plans 1,2,and 3 fail.
Which will take a while.

D'backs could use a 3B. I think there could be a great match there.
