I don't really think Faulk has sucked in STL without looking he's .5 PPG ish in STL with a cumaltive +30 or something. That's not bad 30-40 point guy on the 2nd pair he's rarely been the issue

he's a turd, but the defense is not very good, #55 is not a shut down #1 that this team has needed, but he's our best.

In the midst of a chaotic start. Justin Faulk has managed to keep his game in check and be at a -2 while logging lots of ice time on a team giving up a ton of goals. He's putting together a 45 point pace season to start the year. It was clear to those who were watching without hate goggles that he was turning his game around last year. His offense wasn't as crisp but his defensive game was getting more responsible. It looks like he is back in his opportunistic groove.

Faulk, love him or hate him, as been a consistent producer since he has been wearing the note. Very steady guy. Whether this level of play can continue remains to be seen. But it's a bright spot of consistency for the season.

I love that he is doing that, now trade him. Immediately and sell high. We don't need Justin, we need A+ prospects and picks. I also would like to maximize our chance at drafting Gavin McKenna.

Faulker about to get his 1000th game. Most of his good seasons in a Blues uniform. Lets hope this team turns it around on the back of some of these cool milestones. He is certainly carrying his end. Needs a few more to step up to his level to turn it around.

He is the new JBo.
Everyone hated him but he is actually really reliable and good. It took a cup for people to realize how good Jbo was. Faulk may never get that but he has been solid his entire time with the Blues. Reasonable people have seen it.

There is something about players getting paid that triggers a fan base when it's not their favorite player. I don't know why it happens, but it turns them into the whipping boy. Faulk was never the flashy guy so it ended up being the trigger point. Krug absorbed most of the flak for a bit and when they didn't have him to turn to, Faulk got set in their sights. You really didn't see as much Faulk hate until last year when ironically both Leddy and Krug were out of the lineup. Let's not forget, before the Faulk hate happened, Parayko was coming off of it about 2 years prior. More than half the fan base seemingly was calling to have Parayko traded. I had to sit there that season 3 years ago and say who are you trading him for? As soon as you trade him, you are looking for another Parayko, and he will cost a lot more than 6.5m.


Anyways, hopefully he can keep this consistent play up. 40+ at 6.5 as a defender would be a great value season.

I personally don't get mad at guys if I personally think they are overpaid. That's on the GM for offering them money that they just accepted to play for my team. Does it suck when a guy is paid more than you think he is worth? Sure it does. But why would anyone hate the player for that?

If someone sucks at their job but get offered a ton of money and a promotion and they accept it do you blame that person?


Anyways, overpaid a bit or not, Faulk Leddy and even Krug were / are not bad players.

Those are all offensive stats. He’s nowhere near elite or even exceptional defensively and he lacks size/reach/leverage.

Faulk is a terrible defender. From soft net front coverage to his non stop pee wee level passes up the boards. He also screens our goalie like it’s his job.

Oh but he has a few goals (2 EN) when he had around 4 non EN goals in the past two seasons combined! Plays 1PP since last season as well. So his point totals are below what they should be

Ive been critical of Faulk over the years. Alot of his problems (along with the rest of the team) is 6 on 5. I remember early on last he had a ton of pucks deflect off him into the Blues net. This year that has happened to Tucker a good number of times. I thought i saw somewhere that Faulk was like top 5 defensively based on advanced stats. Whether or not its true or not has been steady.

Huh? He’s had 2 good/solid seasons as a Blue thus far.

what? he has only had 1 real "down year" maybe 2 if you want to be really objective. THe first year he didn't seem to fit his role properly but was a fine player. And last year his offense was no good. He had 2 career years back to back after his first year. And his 4th year he was a 50 point guy on a very medium level hockey team. He's having another really good year this year. Faulk has been one of the best defenders this team has had in the last 10 years.

In his first year, he was signed as heir apparent to Petro but was buried that whole year. He only played 20 min a night (3 min below career average), and almost a third of that difference was PP time. He plays about half our PP time now. All that is to say, it seemed like Army went out and fetched him only to bury him until he finally let Petro walk. Can't hold that first year against him.

I agree with the sell-high post though. He's on a 45 pt pace and his career high is 50. Pull the trigger on a trade right this second.

Can you imagine getting a guy like McKenna? I won't even think about it unless it happens. His skillset is elite, but the scouting reports rave about his hockey IQ. The real deal by all accounts.
