18 HR, 69 RBI for a 1B/LF/DH Silver Slugger. The bar is now so low one could crawl over it.
And yet he was once again one of the better hitters for the Cards...don;t care where he plays, he produces, and that is more than most on this team.
15'th in MLB with a 290 batting average.

Agreed! He's a keeper and plays multiple positions...what's not to like!
“Plays” multiple positions

+1 congrats to him but man the quality of offense has fallen badly when he wins one

That should increase his trade value.

Being one of better hitters on this team is akin to being best man at a all-girls school!

First Winn and now Burly?
Do the Cards have incriminating pictures of some one? If the Cards win the division I don't think either is deserving of their award. This is even stranger...
I'm not sure why there is a need for a Utility Silver Slugger but that is how Burleson won. Just have the guys in the position categories that they played the most pretty simple. I can kind of see it for Gold Glove, but find no reasoning for it on Silver Slugger.
Pitchers used to get one.
As of today he might be the starting LF or RF
With the bat he ranks well there
Yep and pitchers used to bat so that makes sense. So you are saying Burleson is right there with Soto, Carroll & Tucker? He's also not close to Alonso at 1B the two positions he plays. I just don't see a need for a Utility Silver Slugger.

Where is Shady and the love for his Burly man? Probably still popping those champagne bottles in celebration of this glorious event. I cannot wait until all the posts saying "I told you he was a great hitter", almost Ruth like.

If someone offered a prospect with a higher ceiling, you do that deal.

Did you intentionally delete the high batting average?

Burleson had an above average season at the plate, good for him. However unlike Winn's GG season there was nothing special about Burleson's hitting. The Utility Silver Slugger award is a slight step above a "Participant" ribbon. His fellow nominees were Donovan and Cronenworth, for crying out loud.

Not dogging Winn, but it is also easy to win a GG when every error you make is ruled a hit. Lol
Why not just be happy for him? Glad a Cardinal got an award.

But the same rules apply to the remaining shortstop they too get the benefit of a hit verse error. If they became rigid, I think it would still go Winns way.

Brandon Drury won one of those.
