He’s younger than Gray. And if he’s good, he should keep pitching at a high level for a lot more years. 32 is irrelevant for a quality pitcher.

A WHIP under 1.0 is remarkable. He would instantly upgrade the rotation and be 1 or 2. Shota is going to make some money. The only thing that concerns me is he's not a huge strikeout pitcher, but that WHIP is worth it.

Gave up 20 HRs in the 2nd half of last season. I guess if we needed an expensive backend SP hes worth a shot.

At the right price he would help although he is a pitch to contact type who would have been better in the previous Busch. ERA on the road 3.44. The Cardinals will have no ace unless one of the younger guys significantly improves.

This isn't "my" line of thinking Carp, just what I perceive as being BDWJr's/C. Bloom's line of re-build thinking and a 32 yr old starting pitcher just doesn't fit the plan.

Like I said above, I started multiple threads begging Dewitt to sign him while too many wasted their time in fantasyland thinking he would go after Yamamoto.
