Wouldn't they have probably gone deep into the playoffs? If everybody was healthy, I'm not too sure the Cardinals offense didn't have as much potential as the Dodgers this season. The starting pitching was the huge difference.
I mean, they probably make the playoffs, then who knows. They under performed on offense to be sure, but you really can't view that in a vacuum. They pitch better, keep games closer, hitters don't press as much and maybe score a few more runs. That's my opinion anyway.

A look at how many games were lost to injury by the Dodgers starting pitching staff this season shows the historic job Dave Roberts did this season..
And the role players won the world series

Hilarious. Not one Cardinal everyday player starts for LA .
From what I saw in the World Series, the Dodgers could have used Donovan, Herrera and Burleson in their lineup, no doubt. Not sure where Herrera would have played, but Donovan and Burleson could have started in LF and RF. Especially vs RHP.

For the umpteenth time, Burleson is unplayable defensively in RF:
IP: 734.2
DRS: -7
UZR: -5
OAA: -12
FRV: -11
That's all in the equivalent of just
half a season. He's a traffic cone out there.

Yes, if the Cardinals added four legit SPs better than our best, they would have probably made the playoffs and been a real tough out in the post-season, as the Brewers found out in the NLCS.
I assume having Ohtani in our make believe rotation means we also get him as our DH.

Yep, if only the Cardinals had been willing to just
slightly expand their payroll, things could have gone differently . . .
Ohtani: 10yrs/$700mm
Yamamoto: 12/$325 plus a $50.6mm posting fee
Snell: 5/$182mm
Glasnow: 5/$136.5

LOL. Not a chance. Maybe AAA, not LA.

For those that seem rather obtuse regarding the OP. My point is, a fabulous starting pitching staff is likely more essential to the outcome of a season than the manager.

It's rich the dolt who creates one stupid thread after another calls others obtuse. No sh-- the Cards would be better with the Dodgers' rotation, dumb-ss.

So why does a manager with a poor starting staff take so much heat? He has a "play the hand he's dealt".

Clearly, that was not your “point” (however banal). You made no reference
whatsoever to managers (or their essentiality) in your thread title or OP.
Furthermore, you suggested the Cardinals’ offense had as much “potential” (whatever that means) as the Dodgers’, even though the Dodgers had a 113/114 wRC+/OPS+ compared to the Cardinals’ 96/96.
This thread definitely does have a “point”—or, more accurately, a purpose—but as usual, that purpose has nothing to do with the nominal (pretextual) thread title or OP.

Oh, it definitely has a purpose . . .
