Pressure beat the Blue Jays, not money.
Money buys depth and depth can hit a late, game tying homer.

Maybe if the Jays don’t lose Springer they win game 3 and the series in 5.

Something has to be done for the good of the game. Its the same core teams in the post season each year with one or two random teams thrown in. I think that hurts the game in attracting more fans.

Maybe at some point all the deferred money catches up to the Dodgers. Maybe they find some loophole around it. I don't know.

Quite possibly regarding Springer. I’d also add that Jays had home field advantage from having a better record playing in a tougher division, and had the Dodgers on the ropes several times.

Dave Roberts also made a big difference in rolling the dice on some of those depth guys that weren’t really getting it done.

I think both teams were good enough to be worthy champs and it really could’ve went either way.

The players don't want a salary cap either. Only the teams like the cardinals want a salary cap.
Teams with very low payrolls don't want to have to spend what would be required for the players to agree with a salary cap because the players are not going to agree with a upper cap with no lower cap requirements.

Why would someone come to an anonymous forum and post that they are leaving?...don't let the door hit your (donkey)....

An even bigger problem is the prevalence of ungodly deferred money. A cap? Players will strike before they ever let that happen. Maybe they should, I mean fans don't come out to see the owners throwing and hitting. Maybe true revenue sharing would be the answer or maybe realignment where the poorer teams fight against each other and the richer teams have their division for the richer teams. I don't know, maybe some compilation of both. One thing is for sure, the Dodgers are setup to repeat and repeat. They have a huge fan base and players want to play there. Why wouldn't they?

No Cap, No BB.

It's a Joke

There has to be a minimum and a top and they need to be close.

Bring back free parking, .75 cent beers and $1.00 dogs ...

Need cap. Need floor. If franchise can’t afford floor move franchise.

I would say that this forum is dead to me, but I've got this really funky toenail that has a mind of it's own. Putting on socks is a real adventure.

So because it was a great WS, it means the sport is great? Far from it. Middle America cannot compete in the sport as its run now.
2 weeks of good baseball doesn't hide the unbalance.

I wouldn’t sweat it. You’re allowing other human actions to direct your own movement. Even the best player- Dodgers, are basically human. So I just watch the game.

What I took away is stellar pitching rules. Second, I saw a Toronto team I’ve never seen. Toronto.

Pressure beat the Blue Jays, not money.
Both of those were in play, plus good fortune for the Dodgers, (such as the screaming line drive right at Muncy who was playing in for a bunt, and the ball stuck at the bottom of the outfield wall in game 6), plus some outstanding defensive plays by the Dodgers (Pages catch in LCF in the 9th saved the game - I don't think Hernandez was going to catch that ball, and the ground ball that Rojas fielded and threw home for the force out)

No error game with some truly clutch plays.

There’s a point to be made there. Just because you have the best on paper they still gotta perform on the field.
