Unless the game is a blowout type , any close tight game will have the fans (and media ) all over the losing manager for pitching decision(s) that didn't work out .

Nature of the beast . With guy(s) on base and you leave the pitcher IN and gives up run scoring hit/HR , the manager is a fool . If he pulls the pitcher in that scenario and the new reliever gives up hit/HR, the manager catches it too.

A good controversial play would be a highlight of the final game. For example, a blocking vs no blocking by a play at home plate.
A fan interference call reaching out into the field call . Foreign substance found on Scherzer lol
Oh well , we can always dream . As usual the game will probably hinge on some stupid baserunning mistake by a player or a mental lapse by a fielder on an easy catch . Those are much more likely .
And since he will start the game he will get to take advantage of the Ohtani rule that was made specifically for him so he can stay in the game and hit. Seems fair am I right?
It does seem right, since every pitcher in baseball is eligible to utilize the rule.
Yea but only one of those pitchers and teams can actually benefit from it but u know that
And that means something because?
I'll wait why you list all the pitchers that have been able to use this rule besides Ohtani....I'll give you all the time you want.

cardstatman wrote: 01 Nov 2025 19:43 pm It is truly amazing how often we see strikeouts or popups when runners are on 2B with no one out.

Glad it isn't just the Cardinals.
I don’t know. I feel with nobody on 2nd base and no outs we see just as many strikeouts and pop ups .
Isn’t that how many outs are made?

You would have to ask MLB clubs why they don't advantage of a rule that is there for any pitcher to use.

You know why it’s called the Ohtani rule for a reason because it was created for him and he’s the only one who uses it I don’t think you’re dumb to think every pitcher is good enough of a hitter to warrant them using them as a hitter

I don't know how dumb I am, but any pitcher can utilize the rule. There doesn't even need to be a rule he is a DH who hits for pitchers. Sometimes he is a pitcher, but there are numerous pitchers all game, everygame. He is the DH so there is no issue.
