Yeah, without Yamamoto I think the Dodgers would lose. Incredibly lucky to have him under the circumstances. That all these factors came about in one place at one time is remarkable. If Toronto had won I'd have given it to the kid that had more hits than anybody, can't remember his name right now.

They absolutely would’ve lost. He pitched 18 innings all in games they won with a 1 handle ERA. Bobby Richardson of the Yankees was the 1960 WS MVP when they lost to Bill Mazeroski and the Pirates. Unfortunately , we have been trained that the MVP of any game or series MUST be someone from the 'winning team . I once asked a guy about that . He told me it ALWAYS is a player from the winning team . ( I was waiting for that comment ) I quickly replied , Oh no ! I remember a Super Bowl football game where the game MVP was from the losing team .

I said Well it was Chuck Howley LB for the Dallas Cowboys Super Bowl V (5) vs. the Baltimore Colts . Cowboys lost 16-13 1971 was the year and I was 23 years old . Always remembered that .
Howley was selected MVP for intercepting 2 passes and making 1 fumble recovery . He was the MVP .
