Yea, for some reason people are starting threads like it was The A's in the world series. Toronto is a power house offense. They just need to be healthy.

Ohtani didn't pitch that bad. Granted he didn't have his best stuff and battled to get through. Where I think the issue lies is with Dave Roberts. He should have taken him out after 6 innings and not let him come in to start the 7th. If I recall correctly Ohtani was at 90 pitches after 6. Because he didn't have his best stuff it was a real gamble for him to continue. I know hindsight is 20/20 but I even stated to my wife who was watching the game with me that I was surprised he was still in. Just my opinion.

If anyone who knows a thing about baseball was watching Ohtani pitch, they'd know he wasn't "bad." Six Ks, 6 hits and 1 BB in 6 IP. Banda and Treinan gave up 3 hits and 1BB in 1IP in Shohei's relief in the 7th. That's bad. Davey should have never had him out there in the 7th.

Smoltz called it before Shohei gave up the runs -- he was missing spots after an exhaustive night before and his legs were not what they need to be. All other humans who pitch would have had the previous 4 days off.

lol I like ohtani but come on he DHed he sat in the dug out except when he was on base and didn’t pitch every pitcher on both teams were sitting in the ball park the same amount of time. He had a bad night it happens to the best

Sorry, but I believe John Smoltz more than I believe you. His point was that all other starting pitchers devote their entire time and energy analyzing and prepping for the game -- for four days -- and Shohei doesn't get that opportunity, so it only makes what he does more amazing. He had a subpar night against a great team, not a "bad" one.

We'll see if Yamamoto can buy the Dodgers one more game. I suspect he will go deep into the game and not allow more than a run or two. Of course I am regularly wrong! I certainly want the Jays to win, being in Canada, but a game 7 is always exciting.
