When Hofer has been in net, he 100% has been at fault for a majority of his goals. He is fighting an internal mental battle right now and his confidence is at an all time low.
Binnington on the other hand has shown up in various games and has been the reason they haven't been scored on more.
If anything, the team collectively needs to be harder to play against in their own end and in neutral ice.
They need to hit and check guys. They are not playing the man and instead want to make cute plays with sticks and it's not working against every opponent. In no way should they be doing what they are doing on home ice but the word is out that they are fragile and are easy to play against.

Binnington has also been awful. The blues team save percentage is .840, last in the NHL. Defensive breakdowns and bad turnovers obviously contribute to that. But goaltending is 80% of what’s wrong with this team.dtkblueshockey wrote: ↑29 Oct 2025 09:46 am When Hofer has been in net, he 100% has been at fault for a majority of his goals. Have you watched the games, especially the past two?The Average Gatsby wrote: ↑29 Oct 2025 10:44 amBinnington has also been awful. The blues team save percentage is .840, last in the NHL. Last night, Binnington had no chance on any of those goals. Some bad luck (goal off Faulk), two nice deflections by DeadWings and failure of D-zone coverage.
Previous game, which do you fault Hofer? To me, the only one (maybe) was Wotherspoon's, and even that was a heck of a shot.
The others were Rush from point blank with a head of steam; tap-in far side; slot deflections; Crosby 100-foot breakaway (and rebound); ENG.

I’ve watched all the games. The blues are literally getting the worst goaltending in the entire league and it’s bananas to pretend otherwise. Goaltending isn’t the only problem but it’s by far the biggest problem right now.blues2112 wrote: ↑29 Oct 2025 11:45 amHave you watched the games, especially the past two?The Average Gatsby wrote: ↑29 Oct 2025 10:44 amBinnington has also been awful.
