Matheny - .538
Larussa - .537
Herzog - .532

Matheny wasn't all that bad. And don't try to make a case that he had better players than other managers. He
had a very weak center of the lineup his last few years here. And he had a very low budget team when he was in
Kansas City.
So you’re thinking MM will be going into the hall of
Fame as a manger? lol
Never said that. Just said he wasn’t as bad as some say.
He’s not as good as some say either.
Never said he was good. But he had more credentials than Shildt and Oli.

Matheny won too much. Cardinals fans now prefer the abandon all hope philosophy.

Won too much he was on his way to missing the post season for the third time in a row when he got fired. Cardinals fans want a philosophy of building a winning team instead of the tried and failed sign scrubs trade for scrubs and pray for miracles that has been failing

Marmol has 2 losing seasons in 3 years. Matheny won every year - and we are keeping Marmol.

Expectations have been lowered haven't they? Abandon all hope.

No, but it helps. The catcher is the on field captain and certainly his dedication and toughness was respected by the players.

Just to be clear, I made this wisecrack during game 3, shortly after Ohtani hit his second home run.

Strange that this thread had a shelf life.

Apparently you have insulted a few Matheny lovers who, coincidentally, were Mozo the Clown apologists and they have a new thread and cause to argue... and they are relentless.

When Cranny responded to Rocko, you knew Cranny was looking to recite his Matheny talking points and just hoped someone would say enough of something for the frivolity to start.

Matheny had an issue with Dexter Fowler, and it created acrimony in the clubhouse. Fowler’s slash line the year Matheny was fired? .180/.278/.298/.576.

Matheny VS Ollie. I am taking Matheny in a heartbeat.

In view of what we have seen the last few years, I have had to reexamine the Matheny Years.

I view his tenure a bit more favorably than I did previously.

Then you must support Yadi getting the job since he tops Matheny in both toughness and Gold Gloves.
