If anyone should be singled out as a whipping boy, it should be Schenn, not Buch. Schenn made a good assist last night, but he's hurt this team far worse this season than Buch.

Buch is right up there with my least fav blues in the last decade thats for sure. sometimes in a trade u get what u give up, everyone thought we ripped off NY giving them blais and a second, or did blais come back? cant rmb... anyways, id like to have that second round pick back right about now

Since '19-'20 Buch is 12th in the NHL in LW Points are we really saying Buch is the issue here?

Trading for Buch was not a bad move at all. It was extending him rather than flipping him that was the major error.Cardsfanforlife wrote: ↑28 Oct 2025 13:43 pm Buch is right up there with my least fav blues in the last decade thats for sure. sometimes in a trade u get what u give up, everyone thought we ripped off NY giving them blais and a second, or did blais come back? cant rmb... anyways, id like to have that second round pick back right about now

Not sure you go 6 years to fill an immediate void.Harry S Deals wrote: ↑28 Oct 2025 13:59 pmBut then who fills that voidMiamiLaw wrote: ↑28 Oct 2025 13:55 pmTrading for Buch was not a bad move at all. Count me in the unhappy column on that contract but I do see his value as well as his faults and I'll pull for the value as his contract unfolds in the years ahead but I am not optimistic about that term at all.

The time to deal him was at deadline

Exactly. So much hand-wringing, crying and hyperbole. And speculation/day-dreaming of what moves posters wanted to be made — after the fact.Harry S Deals wrote: ↑28 Oct 2025 13:55 pm Since '19-'20 Buch is 12th in the NHL in LW Points are we really saying Buch is the issue here?

These threads will evaporate when Blues put up a winning streak.

Re: The Great Buchnevich with the most ice
Until someone else takes over the mantle, I'm not going to complain about his play. He's been the best 2 way forward since the Blues acquired him. If he's a 60 point a season guy he''s well worth the contract he is getting. If he goes over 70 or 80 and is a PPG guy, we got a bargain. I'll reserve judgement for the Best forward on the roster until one of the younger guys who is supposed to be that guy steps up and shows they are leading that pace day in and day out.dhsux wrote: ↑28 Oct 2025 18:06 pmNot sure you go 6 years to fill an immediate void.Harry S Deals wrote: ↑28 Oct 2025 13:59 pmBut then who fills that voidMiamiLaw wrote: ↑28 Oct 2025 13:55 pmTrading for Buch was not a bad move at all. But I do not like the term on his contract, I do question how it ages.....that's my main point.

Lee Stempniak was a top line player on the Blues for a while too.
