The timeline is quite varied.

Nootbaar should be concerned with staying on an MLB roster and
could become a FA sooner than 2 years.

The good news, because your trade prediction seems probable, is that
Nootbaar really should not be counted on to be ready to start 2026 whether
or not he ever should have been. With Walker also being uncertain,
perhaps someone new happens.

Well however he’s gone and not in the lineup will work. Find a better player for corner OF

So you’re telling me Mo may have held on to him just long enough for him to become untradeable. I’m shocked, I tell you, shocked!

He is still torpedoing this franchise in absentia and will continue to do so for a while.

Both feet?
Crazy.
So, he may be untradable at this point.
The hits just keep coming, I tell ya!!

Do you know what Haglunds deformity is? seems he played 135 games last year. More than Winn

Now tell us about Donny, Herrera, Winn, KKKorn. They seem to be often injured. Any of these play more games than Snoot?

If say the Cards players, seem to all have injury concerns
If Nootbaar had this condition and the Cardinals knew it, why was he playing the last weekend in Chicago? And if the medical staff didn't know it, that's another issue. This franchise has a sordid history of dealing with medical issues.
Maybe he can live with it...I'm not blaming the franchise without fscts

Great.

Cardinals can pay his salary again and he can give us a whole lot of idiotic looking swings, terrible baserunning, and fail yet again, for the 5th consecutive year, to hit 15 HR or drive in 50.

Good plan.

ZERO chance of that happening.

And yes bully, he's definitely still got trade value but it definitely lowers it.

6-12 months:
Full recovery, with possible return to high-impact sports
-Cleveland Clinic

Given Noots age and being a well conditioned athlete, I'd put it closer to the 6 months.
If this timeline is accurate, it probably does make him untradeable this offseason. That's too bad because it sure needed to happen. You adjust, and go on. Best case scenario, he comes back sometime in the first half of the season and rebuilds some value. Who knows, we may get more for him if that scenario plays out than if he was traded now.
Hopefully he's ready for a rehab assignment in April.

But to be honest TB looking at our OF I might just keep Noot if I'm C. Bloom, w/o Noot that's one horrible looking OF.

Like you said, best move may be to keep him and see how he looks at the midseason trading deadline.

Then make the move if you want to deal him.
With Noot, it’s also one horrible looking OF. Noot doesn’t make it look much better. In fact, unlike the rug in the Big Lebowski, Noot in no way, shape or form ties the OF together.

Nootbaar was never a trade piece
. He was always a throw-in

Maybe they can buy a 2nd mascot costume and put him to work as Fredbird's sidekick, Nootbird. Maybe have Girch schedule some events where Fredbird, Nootbird, and Brad Thompson entertain the kids. Noot can fall off the dugout rail and do other stupid [shirt].

Non-tender. I wouldn't be surprised if the Cards do that.

"The areas of degenerative Achilles tendon, inflamed tissue and any bony prominences around the heel are removed. If most of the Achilles tendon needs to be detached from the heel bone, it will be re-attached using special bone anchors. In a small number of cases, if a large portion of degenerative Achilles tendon is removed then another tendon (flexor hallucis longus tendon) is used to bridge the gap between the good Achilles tendon and heel bone."

Athletes who do return to competition have the possibility of suffering detached Achilles. Jon Wall had surgery and played a few more years in NBA. Eric Berry ruptured his Achilles and retired from NFL.

From a competitive stand point why exactly would you take a chance on Noot? One foot maybe you take a chance if he was Mantle, Mays, Aaron, but two wheels is not a worth rolling the dice.
