I thought Vitale was gonna start selling those microcars. He talks so fast.
They seemed to be answering trivia questions, no one was asking. All I could think was. "What is? You forgot, the What is?”

How is it,(last 15 something years) Our elite fan favorite personal, gets a backhanded by the organization. Every one of them. All of which have been bad moves.

Kelly was pbp on the vegas/sharks game last night.
So Kelly seems to be doing fine and clearly was always worth more, then Brass will ever understand.

One of two. Unnecessary massive mistakes, over the summer.

What a dramatic error

No (buzz) and pretty face either, what a huge mistake
The team survived going from Ken Wilson to Ron Jacober, then Dan Kelly Jr. We will live through this. It's OK.

I'm sure Alex Datt has photos online that will work for you, I don't get why that's an issue with a hockey broadcast.

I sure hope we have multiple threads on this throughout the season.

Ha ha! No kidding.

This will go away once the Blues start winning.

And, have you noticed how much more traffic there is here when the team loses?

Change is indeed inevitable.

Good change is good. Bad change is bad.

Dumping JK and Pang was bad change.

Getting an unexpected $1000 check in the mail is good change. Being told you have terminal cancer is bad change.

Having worked in corporations where management consultants said “change is good” or “change is inevitable” it was generally a sign that big layoffs were right around the corner.

Yeah, we will survive and live through this. But I’d rather thrive than merely survive. We were thriving with the great voice of John Kelly. Merely living through something is no way to live life.

With regard to Alexa, I’m sure she’s a nice lady and wish her well, but ALL sports broadcasts have way too many talking heads for my taste. 1 play-by-play man, 1 color commentator during the play, and no more than 2 studio hosts are sufficient. Otherwise they talk over each other.

One part of this sheeet deal is irreversibly done. Kellys gone.

Now it's up to these 2 to prove their worth to end these threads.

People shouldn't eat this quietly if it sucks for them.

Would last nights game have been more enjoyable if John Kelly was in the booth?

First bold: Broadcasters must "prove their worth" to whom, and why, and how? and "end these threads"? Not a chance Adonai could stop the sniveling from those who cannot change reality. Or maybe that's the Buddha's job.

Second bold: TheJackBurton brings common sense again.

Obviously, not even a great broadcaster like Kelly could put lipstick on that pig.

But at least we wouldn’t have to listen to Kerber be behind the play or Vitale drone on and on talking over Kerber while the play is going on.

This is my biggest complaint. Kerbs is tolerable as long as Vitale shuts the [fork] up and quits distracting him.

Agree. Kerbs is serviceable, but not top shelf.

TV is a VERY different animal from TV. John Kelly has been a TV broadcaster since what? 1989? Chris Kerber's been at it what, like 3 preseason games and one regular season game? Sounds like a fair comparison.

It's going to take time. From what I understand there was a big difference between preseason and last game. I HATED when the Blues let Ken Wilson go, I HATED Dan Kelly Jr. I guess I didn't have this place to complain to though.

Pretty obvious what broadcasters mean to some and not to others.

Realy weird how one/some can not differentiate.

I've never had a problem with him, and he wasn't behind the call in the game last night.

Also, the complaints of them telling stories kind of mystifies me as Kelly and Panger used to tell stories during the broadcast all the time.

They wouldn't get as goofy with them as Vitale does, but they certainly didn't spend every minute of the game strictly calling the game.
