I expected much worse as I have heard the tangents from Vitale. But Kirbs PbP was good and Joey was spot on the plays before the replay. He explained what was happening before it was clear which is a huge benefit for the layman fan. Those who watch hockey maybe don't need those explanations. But he was on top of 2 bad penalties before it was clear what happened.ChooseBlues wrote: ↑09 Oct 2025 22:14 pm Joey was good on the replays. I would say that is his strength.
Also, I just like they weren't being homers. For some reason that is a thing with me. You need to root the team on. Not bend the narrative.

It was a solid improvement from what I've heard from them in the past.
Definitely not JK and Panger level; but tolerable(at least until the game was well out of hand).
How long until Kerber/Vitale …

Re: How long until Kerber/Vitale …
I know a lot don't like Vitale, I kind of do. But the thing I'm most worried about with the duo is whether or not they are capable of having that "highlight " level call. Cause Kirbs from radio I have heard is he just get's really highly audible. Not a big storyteller after the call or whatever you would likle. Vitale I think is going to have some for the books moments that people appreciate.kimzey59 wrote: ↑09 Oct 2025 22:47 pmNo supermarket storiescallitwhatyouwant wrote: ↑09 Oct 2025 22:25 pmhonestly they sounded like a very solid duo. Re: How long until Kerber/Vitale …
I agree...I'm not a big fan of their schtick. There's something about Kerber that just rubs me the wrong way. I think it's his voice paired with his frat boy attitude. Vitale is ok with his scatterbrained stories and comedic tangents when he's on the radio as a guest of a show. Much like you, I will give them their due and say that they were at least tolerable tonight. There were a couple of moments where the wheels of the train started to depart the rails, but they got back on track rather quickly.IsDurbanodoingtime wrote: ↑09 Oct 2025 22:51 pmI absolutely hated them. Maybe right now, but for how long? I'm about ready to ditch the Blues broadcasts for the opposition broadcast....heck, if the teamChooseBlues wrote: ↑09 Oct 2025 18:05 pm
But here’s the thing: the TV audience didn’t go anywhere. They’re still here. They’re a captured audience—loyal, engaged, and expecting a product that matches the NHL stage. TV is the showpiece. It’s the big leagues. Radio, for all its charm, is the AHL equivalent in terms of reach and production expectations.
keeps playing like last night, I might quit watching altogether!

Why stop there? Leave here for the opponent’s message boards too. If you’re going to do something, do it right!son_of_foolsgold wrote: ↑10 Oct 2025 06:46 amMaybe right now, but for how long? I agree with you on JK and Pang. Didn't care for Rivers but still ok. But Dan Kelly and Jack Buck could have announced the game and someone on here would have (whined) about it.MiamiLaw wrote: ↑09 Oct 2025 22:30 pmYea in a game of pure [shirt], they were a bright spot actually. They aren’t top class JK and Pang but they weren’t any worse than JK and Rivers IMO. I really didn’t like Rivers as a color guy
