This is what I hate about the offseason . . . endless banter about hypothetical trades that will never happen. It's like Dungeons and Dragons, MLB Edition or somesuch.
Here we have a Newseek article based on the musings of a Bleacher Report blogger. So the hell what?

Not sure the Mets will want to deal with us again after the Helsley fiasco
That was my first thought too lol!
My guess is it would not impact anything. They knew what they were getting with Helsley
I have to assume they thought were getting something closer to last year’s RH than what they got. He still had an ERA in the lower 3 range when they acquired him. But it probably still doesn’t matter in the grand scheme. Trades just turn out like that sometimes. It just happened to turn out REALLY bad for them in that one though.
Not saying he was good with the Mets (he wasn’t), but weird things happen in small samples, especially with relievers. In his 20 IP with the Mets, he had a .362 BABIP-against and a 14.5% HR/FB ratio. Too many BBs (4.95 BB/9), which of course are on him, but the guy just couldn't catch a break. I’m guessing the Mets view it as a reasonable trade that just didn’t work out. As you say, it happens.
Yeah, tough luck for Mets and RH on that one. Hopefully we got a good player out of it though. And maybe RH will come back to us on a discount lol! I know just making that suggestion might upset more than a few posters here!

If he does, then don't pay a penny of his remaining salary.
S. Cohen is worth
$23,000,000,000!
NADO's remaining salary falls of of his pocket when he buys his daily Starbuck's coffee.
There are reasons he’s worth 23, 000, 000, 000
One of them is not making the kind of deal you are suggesting..

Another day, another Shady thread about a purely speculative MSN/SI/Fansided clickbait article, wrapped in an intentionally misleading thread title in order to get more clicks/attention.
So predictable and useless drivel. Kind of like a national enquirer vibe. Attention for the shadester.

Arenado contract:
https://www.spotrac.com/mlb/player/_/id ... an-arenado
Manea Contract:
https://www.spotrac.com/mlb/player/_/id ... ean-manaea
Manea 2025 injuries:
https://sports.yahoo.com/article/mets-s ... 57464.html
Manea started the season on the IL with an oblique strain that kept him out til mid season. Then "loose bodies" diagnosed in his arm
They claim now he doesn't need off-season surgery. But yeah right. He'll need surgery.
According to Sportrac, Manea is owed ~$39M through 2027. With additional $23.25M deferred over 10 years beginning in 2035.
Arenado is owed $31M through 2027. With additional -$42M of deferrals continuing from 2026 thru 2041
Both teams would be just dumping contracts. Questionable whether Manea pitches effectively again. Arenado at least can play the field. Optimistically, he recovers doubles power and a .750 OPS. But that's looking through rose colored glasses.. Both probably need off-season arm surgery.
The additional prospect returned is middling. But Nado was never going to return a top prospect.

As the result, some good discussion on a timely topic. Maybe you should try to contribute something instead of being NewYorker's "yes man". That's weak. But not unexpected coming from you.

It’s a relatively even trade. I could see the Cardinals using Manea’s salary as an excuse not to sign an SP.

Give it a rest man. Your sulky attitude regarding such trivial things indicates your life must be miserable. Seeking attention is not my goal. Discussing Cardinals baseball is. Cranny was right on about you.
In all fairness, though...these click bait sites written by regular joe schmo...are not worth paying any attention to and I wish they didn't exist.

Just ignore them then. It's speculative trade talk just like with many CT posters. It's harmless.

yeah, but I don't get bombarded on my phone with cards talk threads like I do with these articles, and if you aren't paying attention you may actually think its a true thing that happened when it is nothing but drivel.

I suspect the D' Backs are currently the most likely landing spot for N/A.

Too soon.
Last year, STL traded N/A within the precise 4-day window I predicted weeks in advance.
And the team will unquestionably maintain my accuracy rate which has exceeded 90% over the past decade.
But, we must first pass the QA and non-tender deadlines before we can analyze how the post-season will develop from there.
Patience.
