When did the Cards steal 134 bases? Sure as F wasn't in 2025. As far as the topic at hand, I don't like the Brewers, but the Dodgers are everything that's wrong with MLB.

Would be amazing to see the Brewers manhandle the Dodgers and probably the only time I'd ever root for the BrewCrew.

Yea I pulled a bad # point being we are bad at it and Brewers are good. And the Brewers are a good team we are bad.

Any way you slice it, the Brewers success is admirable and enviable.

Possible that this match up happens. Both lead two games to none.

Classic. Big money team and small money team. Couldn’t get a better disparaging comparison.

The Brewers continue their model of efficiency. Year after year. A very simple model.

The Dodgers continue their model, money money money.

Both are working. Brewers have no HoFers. Dodgers have 3? Maybe 4.

Great opportunity to see the results of two seperate models.
The Dodgers also draft and develop well. They can buy players, develop players, trade players. They do it all.

If the Brewers can knock out the Dodger Goliath$, more power to them.

If they fall short for lack of a RH power bat and good defender at 1B named Contreras, I'm all for that.

brewers used the "cardinal way" and ran with it. relying on pitching to win.

cardinals lost their way,Ownership 100% to blame.

The odd things is that while their pitching is very good they are miserable in quality starts. Are these sustainable traits? So far they have been. With all this being said, the Dodgers are better offensively, but the Dodgers are worse pitching.
By the numbers the Brewers are nearly interchangeable with the Dodgers in run scoring. Brewers - 4.98 R/G, Dodgers - 5.09. Brewers have a higher OBP & BA… they get on base, and make up for the lack of slugging by running the bases well.
Agreed. Just don't know how they got all those performing hitters. Well, I know how they got Yelich.

With all this being said, the Dodgers are better offensively, but the Dodgers are worse pitching. We know the Dodger model is sustainable because they go out and buy what they want. To me it seems that the Brewers are more than the sum of their parts. A very interesting situation. The Phillies are number 1 in quality starts but are slightly worse than the other teams in offense. Very much feel that the Brewers are a team of destiny but momentum as they say is only as good as the next day's starting pitcher.
Brewers bullpen has been the key. They have been extremely stingy in allowing runs. Give them a lead and it has been tough on other teams to bounce back . Last night was another example ... Brewers had a bullpen game and other than that 1st inning 3-run homer, the Cubs offense did nothing vs. the Brewer relievers.
That always helps for sure but they also score a lot of runs. On par with the Dodgers and actually scored quite a bit more than the Phillies. They are, at the moment, just an all around good team. With one caveat, they don't do quality starts well for some reason. Odd that, they have good pitching rankings but as you say, they must have a shutdown bullpen.

Not.

Now, are the Brewers collapsing or are the Cubs earning it.

Toronto is in. Either Detroit or Seattle. Toronto May beat either.

Toronto is looking like the team to beat in the AL and possibly in the series. They may get Bichette back at least to DH in the ALCS too, although he will be rusty. I hope the Brewers send the cubs packing, but who knows.... Seattle has had a great season and have been left for dead a couple of times and recovered. One of my friends is a big M's fan up here in BC, so I sort of follow them. We shall see. What I wouldn't give for Cal Raleigh in a Cards uniform catching daily... sigh.... And a couple of their starting pitchers! The Jays are looking like a team of destiny at least in the AL though.
