What do you expect to get for Gorman or Walker? Walker is terrible. Gorman has his moments but he strikes out all of the time and has a bad back.
Nootbarr and Donovan are closer to free agency and are older. I think there is a good chance that the Cardinals trade both players. By the time the Cardinals might get better both of these guys will probably leave the team anyway in free agency.
I really like Donovan as a player. He reminds me of Pete Rose without the off the field problems but he will be 29 next season. It is time to let Bloom trade away the guys from Mo's time in St. Louis and bring in the players that he sees as the future.

True, but all this talk about Oli and his iPAD runs counter to what he actually does. He has this information. Yet he bats Burly 3rd. And will still bat Burly 3rd next year if allowed to remain manager.craviduce wrote: ↑05 Oct 2025 18:11 pm Burleson is a singles hitter with runners on base and RISP....only 7 XBH with RISP last year....33 Hits and only 7 of them XBH. That can't be allowed in the 3rd Hole....bat him 6th or 7th. Maybe 9th if he can be taught to run faster in the offseason?...After all he's coming into a Made up Prime next year, so he's getting better...so we're told

This team can't afford anymore station to station running....Singles hitters in the 3rd hole are holding us back.
1. Wetherholt/Donovan
2. Herrera
3. Donovan/Wetherholt
4. Contreras
5. FA power bat, something better than 7 XBH with RISP
6. Winn
7. Burleson
8. Pick a strike out catcher
9. VS2

Donovan reminds you of Pete Rose? Ok. That never occurred to me. Let me know when Donovan gets close to 2,000 or 3,000 or 4,000 hits, though. I don't want to miss those moments!KeeptheRamsinSTL wrote: ↑05 Oct 2025 19:06 pm What do you expect to get for Gorman or Walker? Walker is terrible. Is there anyone you haven't alienated who could check in on you? Your behavior is disturbing.Shady wrote: ↑05 Oct 2025 18:59 pmWinn's .253 BA, 9 HRs, 51 RBIs, .673 OPS. Compared to Burleson's numbers. No thanks. You are losing your asinine brain fart spar. Fortunately, your reporting is much better than your analytical ability and plain common sense.craviduce wrote: ↑05 Oct 2025 18:40 pmI know...but Winn's 11 XBH with RISP vs. Burley's 7 XBH with RISP in fewer AB's, too.... Now, about the intelligence claim you just made :Shady wrote: ↑05 Oct 2025 18:20 pmIsn't it about time for you to "get lost" from the supervisory role you seem to feel you are entitled to on CT. Rest up for your reporting duties. The forum doesn't need your negativity. There are plenty of respectful posters interested in discussing baseball. Not causing trouble like you constantly try to do. By the way, your "Winn batting 6, Burleson at 7 vs RHP may be the stupidest suggestion I've ever witnessed on Cards Talk".craviduce wrote: ↑05 Oct 2025 18:18 pmI guess he needed extra special attention today.... 4 or 5 new threads? HE isn't going to get to 4,256. I know that.icon wrote: ↑05 Oct 2025 19:22 pmDonovan reminds you of Pete Rose? Ok. That never occurred to me. He still reminds me of Rose.
Re: Could the Cardinals get enough for Nootbaar, and Gorman or Walker in order to keep Donovan?
Donovan does kind of remind me, too, of Rose hitting from the left side. And the way he plays the game. Obviously, Donny will never accomplish what Rose did in a career.KeeptheRamsinSTL wrote: ↑05 Oct 2025 19:49 pmHE isn't going to get to 4,256. If Burleson is our #3 hitter next year it’s gonna be another long year.

As would Winn hitting 6th. Grosscraviduce wrote: ↑05 Oct 2025 18:11 pm Burleson is a singles hitter with runners on base and RISP....only 7 XBH with RISP last year....33 Hits and only 7 of them XBH. This team has much worse issues than Burleson batting #3. Wake the (bleep) up Burleson bashers.

Re: Could the Cardinals get enough for Nootbaar, and Gorman or Walker in order to keep Donovan?
No. Nootbaar would bring back a mid prospect or a relief pitcher. Gorman and Walker bring nothing more than a mediocre low minor league maybe.
Bloom either fills the pitching needs through short-term prove it deals or one year low end deals like Gibson and Lynn.
That is the only way you keep Donovan. My guess is Bloom shops him in hopes of landing a #2 or #3 starting pitcher.

Pro tip- You don't need quotation marks around things you said.Shady wrote: ↑05 Oct 2025 18:20 pmIsn't it about time for you to "get lost" from the supervisory role you seem to feel you are entitled to on CT.
