Burleson will likely be back in the top ten in BA in '26. However, he needs to hit for more power to be an All Star.Cranny wrote: ↑03 Oct 2025 18:18 pmIsn't it amazing that there was only one hitter in the entire National League that hit .300 or better this season? One.
And in the top ten batting averages in the league, Burleson was ranked 6th and Donovan 9th. So adding JJ to the mix, having 3 in the top 10 some day may be a distinct possibility. I would count out Herrera either.

Just common sense on that. Try it sometime.

Their best “wipe-away” sliders won’t work on the great Burly!
Do you think he’ll accomplish 1,2, or all 3 of the following feats: .500 average, 80 HRs, 200 RBIs?
I think 95% chance he does all 3.

What is the significance of “coming into his prime” with a drop in production numbers? Who cares about an empty batting average from a 1B/DH? “Burly” got around 600 PA’s in the 3-5 spots and still couldn’t reach 70 RBIs or 20 HRs. But by gosh he sure can save BDW some money, and that is why I watch.Shady wrote: ↑03 Oct 2025 17:46 pmMy guess, Oli will tell Bloom he would like Burleson to not be traded. Considering they need offense. Burleson was in the top four in the NL in BA at 26 years old and is just coming into his prime seasons. And he's still a bargain. Donovan will be in a higher salary bracket. So he could, more likely, be traded.

Add Scott Winn and the Catcher and those 6 create such a power vacume it will be impossible to overcome. The other 3 hitters need to be 30HR/85 RBI hitter to compensate. A team cannot have 3 no power defensive specialists and 3 with less than 15 HR.

Burleson, Contreras, and Herrera should have 20 or more home runs next season. Now if they could get Walker and Gorman going we’d have something.

Perhaps a more meaningful question is will the team have a top three record in the NL…

Yes. It’s be something if Walker and Gorman would get going….like .258-.275 and 20-28 homers. Yeah, that’d be something.

Hope is not a plan....that's what got this team into this mess

Yes if the most anyone has is 20 then you need that from 5-6 players with 75 plus RBI. So let’s say those 5 can all hit 20 where are they playing because it will take a full season of ABs. You want
C Hererra {ruins the def up the middle)
1B Contreras
2B Wetherholt
SS Winn
3B Donovan
LF Burleson
C Scott
RF Walker
DH Gorman
And in your dream world using the same roster as last season that was last on HR and Slug they become better? It’s not happening. To win they must add some legit power somewhere or all have average power which I don’t beleive is possible
