IMO Fowler has zero chance.

Off the top of my head on the left side you have:
Q. Hughes
J. Slavin
Z. Werenski
J. Sanderson
L. Hutson
N. Hanifin
L. Hughes
K. Miller
Probably a couple of more LHD I'm forgetting about.

Even in the very best case scenario that Snuggerud comes out of the gate like Secretariat and is on pace for 40 goals, at best his chances of making the squad are near zero.
One saving grace is that he is a right shot.

The Americans top wingers are left shots:
M. Tkachuk
B. Tkachuk
J. Guentzel
M. Boldy
K. Connor
M. Knies
C. Keller
J. Robertson
JT Miller
They need to take a couple of right shot wingers for PP equilibrium/one timers. I doubt Guerin even considers that though.

However, Tage Thompson should be a lock this time around since he finished last season on the right wing.
More importantly he played at the World Championship and scored the gold goal in OT.
His Buffalo teammate (A. Tuch) might get an invite this time if there are a lot of injuries.
C. Caufield and A. DeBrincat are midget right shot options as well.

Even though the Olympics will be in Europe, isn't the ice length going to be NHL size?

You know what, you’re right! Just googled it. Must’ve missed that detail.

What are the sizes of Olympic and NHL rinks?

One of the most noticeable differences between Olympic and NHL ice hockey had always been the ice surface. NHL rinks measure 200 feet long by 85 feet wide (60.6m x 25.9m), while Olympic competition traditionally used a larger 197 by 98.5 foot (60m x 30m) surface.

The extra space allowed for a more flowing, less physical style of play, often associated with European hockey.

That trend, however, is coming to an end. Milano Cortina 2026 will be played on NHL-sized ice, only the third time Olympic hockey has done so after Vancouver 2010 and Beijing 2022.
