I'll stick with High Em since most have no idea how to pronounce his name - sorry, not sorry

Nothing you posted excuses the stupid baserunning, outfielders throwing to the wrong base, complete lack of situational hitting awareness, or the generally terrible approach by Cardinal hitters.RamFan08NY wrote: ↑01 Oct 2025 16:33 pm Not an attack dog, and not an Ollie fan, but let's be honest here. Its absolutely amazing that they almost won as many games as they lost with that staff. Not to mention a handful of sub .220 hitters.

And no one is talking extension for Oli. You made that up.
and yes, there is a report out there talking about an extension
Zero evidence of that being true.Dicktar2023 wrote: ↑01 Oct 2025 17:37 pm Bloom wanted to fire Marmol, and BDW and Mo said no.

There are no extension talks for Oli.
1) He hasn't earned it, 2) he's not C. Bloom's hire and 3) with the CBA coming up after the 2026 season Dewitt isn't paying a manager that may not be managing games in 2027 if things get nasty.
JMO, but I think Bloom will hire "his guy" after the new CBA is hammered out.
Oli won't be it.
I wish they would've canned Oli after the Phillies playoff debacle.Galatians221jb1 wrote: ↑02 Oct 2025 11:33 amMeanwhile, other teams will pounce on Schumacher, Bochy, Pujols and others and we will again have to promote from within. Players in the game. Yes, we are spoiled. What we need is one of the best owners in the game.
The other alternative is that Bloom, of his own free will, is choosing to continue with the failed coaching regime of the Mo era.Swuhgen wrote: ↑02 Oct 2025 11:21 amZero evidence of that being true.Dicktar2023 wrote: ↑01 Oct 2025 17:37 pm Bloom wanted to fire Marmol, and BDW and Mo said no.

Just a gut feeling .. wouldn't surprise me to see new direction with pitching coach.. Oli seems to like Dusty but wonder about Dir. of Pitching Matt Pierpont ? Haven't heard a lot of kudos about Blake really grooming the young pitchers when they reach the big league club. Wonder if Dusty could be packing. DeScalso could get some interviews for a managerial spot. If he would leave wonder if Jon Jay could get bench coach gig.
There may have been Easter eggs that weren't caught on the first nine readings.

All of these things need to be cleaned up and it appears Marmol isn’t the guy to do it.
He finished in last place and got an extension. Your #1 does not applyrockondlouie wrote: ↑02 Oct 2025 08:56 am BDWJr brought him back this season because 1) he's under contract for 2026 and 2) Dewitt see's 2026 as a throwaway, re-build season.

He’s under contract.Galatians221jb1 wrote: ↑01 Oct 2025 16:26 pm Bloom concentrated for two years on player development and the minor leagues. Springfield won their league championship. Perhaps that manager has caught Bloom's eye. He could promote him to AAA and coach many of those players again in 2026 and then replace Oli in 2027. I’m desperate for some logical reason for them to retain Oli. Nothing else makes sense. I’m sure the attack dogs will have a field day with this post. Incoming.
Exactly. I don't understand why this is so complicated or so surprising. They wouldn’t fire Mozeliak with a year left on his contract; people really think they're going to do it to Marmol in a year where they’re not expected to contend and there’s a labor stoppage after the season?Quincy Varnish wrote: ↑02 Oct 2025 15:35 pmHe’s under contract.Galatians221jb1 wrote: ↑01 Oct 2025 16:26 pm Bloom concentrated for two years on player development and the minor leagues. It’s not the best look to fire three managers in a row. They aren’t going anywhere next year, so it actually makes sense to let Marmol’s contract expire.
