Maxvill was fired in ‘94
Gussie died in ‘89 and III had shut down the Cards funding before that.
So I don’t think Maxville was worse than this MO mess. Mo had funding he just royally (bleep) it up.

Maxville was actually not a terrible GM IMO.

But he was completely hog-tied by Busch 3rd who had zero interest in the team and just wanted out.
