Get out the check book Mr DeWitt. Make it happen.
Maddux left the Cardinals citing he wanted a change of pace. He returned to Texas where he has been a long time resident .
After taking a short time away , the Texans pursued him for pitching coach and since he didn't need to move for this gig, he took it .
I highly doubt at his age he would leave his home base down there. He likes Texas . Years ago, he attended U. Texas - El Paso
Mike is 64 years old.
It probably won't happen but we pay millions to players who underperform. Perhaps a big offer would get him to change his mind. Texas had the fewest runs allowed in MLB in 2025.

I would hate that move. While I love Yadi, the Cardinals have not hired an experienced manager with even a single game of MLB Managerial experience in almost 30 years. Let for once this century hire someone with some MLB experience. We need to fire Marmol this season as they are losing the fan base and almost an entire generation of potential fans. This ship needs corrected soon to start rebuilding Mo’s disaster.
your comments are thoughtful......and I think correct

Then who do you want tough guy? Why don't you let the forum know some of your brilliant moves, player and manager wise?

The year before he was hired by the Rangers I started a thread "Hire Bruce Bochy".

But three years later he's not a fit for a rebuilding team.

The guy I wish C. Bloom could pry away from the Rays is K. Cash! :D

Maybe trade them N. Gorman or J. Walker?

Well, glad you asked. Leave Oli to run out his contract. No miraculous turnaround is coming next year or significant trades/free agents to get into the playoffs. Add in a CBA on the horizon.

Need a non Cardinal to manage.

Reasonable or is just bringing an ex Card player in to manage the better answer? One with no MLB managing experience

I'd see about Craig Albernaz
