I despise Hitler. I don’t despise anyone in the game of baseball. Baseball is just recreation.
"Obviously," Mozeliak despises fans, so...

I am SO glad to see him GONE. But I still wonder why DeWitt Jr kept him so long despite the horrible job Mozo the Clown did.

Was it the Chris Correa incident? Was it because Mozo was an old Colorado trout fishing buddy of BDWJr?

Whatever, GOOD RIDDANCE to Mozo.

And his “nice family.”

And now that’s said, I’m sure The Cranster will want his $0.02 worth..

I wonder how many of those who "despise" Moz even know the man...???

I don’t know Jared from subway.

But I mean…….do I really need to?

Great observations….

He has been incompetent…..

but to despise/hate someone over something as meaningless as baseball is childish….

Moz has done nothing to damage the lives of cardinal followers

and if a bad baseball team actually damages one’s personal life…..that person has have bigger problems than an incompetent baseball exec..

Despise is a hateful comment……hating someone because your favorite baseball team sucks?

Why is it so important to you that people don’t hate Mo? Like what exactly about it ruins your day? Because unless you know him personally, it’s probably more weird to chastise people that hate him because they don’t know him when you yourself don’t even know him……

Ace07 wrote: 29 Sep 2025 07:39 am I have a FB memory back from 2011 bashing Mozeliak, I've been one of his biggest critics.

He took over a great team, and consistently tried to "bandaid" the team with the payroll he received year in and year out. His free agent signings as a whole were absolutely awful - Dexter Fowler, Mike Leake, Steven Matz, Miles Mikolas, Greg Holland, Luke Gregerson, Brett Cecil, etc.
Trading away the wrong assets has also been highly documented - Alcantara, Gallen, Garcia, Arozarena, etc.

Was it all negative? No. But the negatives FAR outweighed the positives, and we have seen the Cardinal "product" become more and more water downed throughout the years. But the most frustrating thing is ownership kept re-signing him, and there was never any accountability. We would win a weak division, squeak into the playoffs and the ownership was happy enough financially and willing to alienate their fan base for profits.

There's a lot of issues that have surfaced.

The Cardinals "philosophy" of building from within was no longer working. Both their drafting and player development has been trending downward. Mozeliak was just making moves based on the culture/philosophy, but he did a demonstrably poor job. The BFIB kept showing support to mediocre teams for too long and were essentially enablers.

I haven't watched much in the last couple years, but this is the first time I stopped even looking at box scores in 20+ years. It's going to take some time to build up this franchise again, and I'm not sure I trust ownership to do what is necessary. Time will well.
I like that second paragraph the most here.

Walt Jocketty did a fine job as a GM, but he was not without warts. Brett Tomko, come on down. Ricky Botallico, come on down. Jamey Wright, come on down. But how many guys did we hold on to far past their expiration date? Do you think Miles Mikolas would've been allowed to been allowed to be as mediocre as he has the past three seasons and still be here, much less hold an important spot in the rotation?

What about trades? Can we really think of anybody that Jocketty traded that we missed later on? I can only think of Dan Haren--who was traded for a bonafide ace who at least put up one good season here. Maybe Coco Crisp?

How many times did Walt get ahead of the game on acquisitions? "Hey, we're really dominating this year. Our outfield looks pretty good, but Larry Walker's available for cheap. I know we have Albert, Edmonds, and Scotty, but what about a fourth guy who can really rake?" Mo would've never.

"Man, Placido Polanco is holding down third base pretty alright. But what if we went out and got Scott Rolen?"

"Mark McGwire's injured? Well, we have Craig Paquette who can play first base, or Eduardo Perez. Wait, Will Clark wants out of Baltimore? Bam. He's here."

We stopped making moves like that.

MO Ran is MLB version of obscenity/porn - utterly without redeeming value.

Bloom takes over on Tuesday - still gives DimWallet 24 hrs to find a way to keep MO Ran in baseball operations.

I like Mo. Presided over the second half of my favorite era of Cardinals baseball. Brought us a WS and a NL Pennant. I think he was looking like he had a chance to be a HOF GM the first half of his career.

The second half, not so much. But even then, it's not like the team was horrible. It's been a rough 3 years, but only one truly bad year out of the three. Yes, Cardinals fans should expect better, and that's why he isn't coming back next year.

Things I like about Mo, things I dislike. Overall, he's been a positive and I wish him well.

When is he officially out? I won't feel comfortable until then. You never know what over-the-hill vet he'll hand a 2 year deal to.

Let's see, President of Baseball Operations and a pedophile...seems like a totally reasonable and rational comparison. This thread is more juvenile than it is nonsensical. And that's saying a lot.
