If he takes on Hull's mentality of once he's over the blue line his first inclination should be to shoot the puck, Thomas will get him the puck pretty consistently.

I just hope Buch doesn't defer too much, he needs to be shooting every bit as much.
Down 20 pts from 21-22. Every year has been a decline. Hopefully that trend reverses this year. Seems like he has a knack for hitting posts, or 'just missing', a lot. To his credit, he stays healthy, just seems like he is a bit of an under-producer, given his talent.

Last year I wouldn't say I give him a pass necessarily but he spent the first 25-30 games of the season getting tossed between center and wing and that was a massive issue for him which cost probably 10-15 points or so.

Like I said though he defers too often, there are times when players just need to be selfish. We see it with Robert Thomas. When he started shooting the puck more, and showed what a great shot he has, his passing lanes started opening up again because they could no longer just focus on that.

If Buch concentrates on shooting the puck more often, the puck will find the back of the net more often.

Of course that is really easy for me to say sitting behind a keyboard, or on a couch or in the seats.

I hope it's minimal if not it could lead to a delay in his '25 inaugural season.

And a chance for some one else. Carbo gets 9?
Snuggs has a "secure spot." He earned that last year and in the playoffs. Monty essentially said as much in the radio interview I heard a few days ago.

Cards season is DUN. I'm back, boys! It's hockey time! Oh, wait... it's a stupid message board. No one cares.

Actually, I don't even really care...

It's true. Success begets success. Confidence begets confidence. Shooting begets (when you have the kind of chops/skill/shot the russki has,) more hole.

Yep, ultimately. Buch is way too talented to only be a 50-60 point forward. He should for about 4-5 seasons of this contract be in the mid to upper 60's with a few years in the 70's.

In Buch’s first two years with the Blues he was over a point per game player.
It was two years ago when they made him a second-line Center in the middle of the season- and stuck a pouting enigma, who had failed to learn forechecking 101, on his wing… that his production dipped .
