Try to establish a major starting pitching upgrade over 2025. He needs to come up with a couple starting pitchers that "miss bats" frequently.
Bloom should “make moves” to “improve the team”. He should “get better starters” and better “bullpen guys” and “better hitters” too. Maybe “upgrade the coaching staff” too. He should “do his job”.
Shady will cover all this with Bloom when they meet next month.
Good to hear! I was hoping Bloom was checking CT daily and reading all of Shady’s great insight! Maybe he’ll hire him as our next GM and he’ll pick up some guys with “wipe away sliders” and “pop” in their bats!

No he needs starting pitchers who can pitch. Doesn't matter if they are strike out pitchers or pitch to contact, either will work IF they know how to pitch. Part of the problem this year was Miles and Pallante trying to be what they aren't. They aren't miss bats type pitchers. They are both pitch to contact. Take they are and improve it, don't change it. Trying to change a player away from their strengths is a good way to fail and mess up the player.
Look at Kershaw, he was successful this year but he was not a miss bats type.

Find 40 baseball players. Small task. Listening to tonight’s announcers they are close to being the best baseball team ever.

Melville, please rehash that.
He wanted to dump the light hitting Herrera who he said has no power and make sure the sub .700 ops power hitting Gorman is the middle of the order bat for years to come
Herrera has exceeded expectation - including yours.
He also has 5 weeks of "power" in 4 seasons.
Don't fall victim to Carpenter Syndrome just yet.
Fine to be optimistic.
But not wise to jump too soon to potentially faulty projections.
How about falling victim to the Unicorn Syndrome??

Bloom's to do list:
1. Disinfect all things John Mozeliak.
2. Fix the roster.
3. Decide what to do with Marmol and crew.
4. Convince fans to return.
5. Remember to feed Girsch.

If they sign any pitcher they will be similar to Lance Lynn and Kyle Gibson but players who are cheaper and will accept a 1 year deal without an option.
My guess is that the rotation will be Gray (unless he waives his NTC), McGreevy, Liberatore, Mathews and Leahy.
Agree
Leahy is interesting.
You still have Pallante(I know...LOL)
Some other good prospects possibly late 2026(Doyle, Hernandez, etc).
Like you said I could see them signing a vet on a one year deal?

#3 should be fire Marmol and crew. Other than that, you’re spot-on, Juan.

The team is rebuilding, not get ready to compete in 26. There will be no signing of a top of the line pitcher....in fact, Gray may be traded. They will make trades designed to gather future players who can help in 27 (assuming there is a season in 27) and beyond.
This is the deepest free agent SP pool in years.

Correct. And you won’t be able to get 4 without doing 3
