I don't believe Mizzou was interested in missing out on an opportunity to play in the national title game.Who can forget Mizzou beating an undefeated Kansas team to end the regular season at #1 and then losing to the Sooners in the Big XII championship game. It just proves your point sometimes it's better not to play in a conference championship game that to play and lose.

Eli was on with Pawwwllll, who really likes him and said "it is what it is" about 3 annual foes but with the fact your going to play everyone every two years or whatever it is doesn't really matter that much. Plus he reminded Paul that the HC's are NOT allowed anywhere near the room where the AD's and SEC commish get together and decide things.
Pointed out to him that another hindrance is 85 man schollie limit in SEC when every other conference it's 105.
In my and several other posters and talking heads minds they will change that in year or two with SC replacing Aggies as that would make more sense from a rivalry stand point.but who really knows as going to nine games will hurt them when it comes to playoff time as no other conference team will play so many really terrific games. In SEC the annual doormat Vandy and now MS state have used NIL and better HC's to really make their programs more competitive. Every game is a hard test.
Eli is the only HC who comes on and says anything interesting and meaningful. Pawlll HS the awful annoying BK on every week who abuses local reporters and never says anything of interest.

And the talk in March after an 18 game conference schedule was the SEC did get a record 14 teams into the NCAA tournament.we cannibalize ourselves as a conference the more we play each other. Again, all we have to do is look at last season’s basketball as the template. The talk in January was how ridiculously better the SEC was than every other conference and would we get 14 of the 16 teams in the tourney.

How in the world does SC make more sense -- rivalry wise-- than A&M? Which is closer and has a longer, if not thicker, history with MU?hdhntr148 wrote: ↑25 Sep 2025 08:31 am Eli was on with Pawwwllll, who really likes him and said "it is what it is" about 3 annual foes but with the fact your going to play everyone every two years or whatever it is doesn't really matter that much. Frankly, I don't really like either.
OU, Arkansas, and A&M makes a tough schedule, same three as Texas gets. And while SC would be easier, A&M seems a more a natural rival. I mean SC is on the east coast and before MU got stuck in the east division, had no history with us at all.
And recruiting (if it isn't all about dollars now) would be helped by playing in Texas almost every year. Do we even have a player from SC?
The SEC seems determined to lump all the new schools together as rivals. We get AR, A&M, and OU, Texas gets the same. OU got one traditional SEC school I think.
We should get Kentucky or Vandy. That's what makes sense.
Vandy is closest. Either would make our schedule more manageable.

I was hoping you guys could keep Tennessee in the rotation. Two solid teams, some good games, some ill-will building. Sounds like an SEC rivalry to me.
