Trade for what? Pitching, position players, prospects?

Who steps in and fills the void?

Absolutely no one should be off limits. These players are almost all B level players both in the big leagues and minors. Most trades would require multiple players going for anything reasonable in return.

Free agency is probably the better way to step back into relevance.

To me, anyone except Winn, Wetherholt, Doyle, Liberatore, and McGreevy can be traded. Liberatore and McGreevy not so much because they are excellent, but because there aren't alternatives. If they develop alternatives, I would be willing to re-visit that thought.

There is not a player in the organization they shouldn't consider trading. There are no players in the organization that have top 10 player in the league status. There is not one player that would ever have a shot at finishing in top 10 in MVP.

Not going to happen unless blown away by an offer. Burleson is going into his prime. Consistent offensive production that the organization can rely on and still cheap. And, so far, pretty durable.
If Contreras doesn't waive ntc BurlyGone.

Nootbaar, Donovan, Gorman, Walker, Church can all go bye-bye too.

They need to build around Winn, Wetherholt and Scott in my opinion.

Need as many athletes as possible, not a bunch of slow pitch lugs.
Exactly. And pitching. That's the recipe for winning if you are a team who can't pay Judge Ohtani Harper Soto etc. Pitching Defense speed Obp. I like you mentioned Scott. He will evolve.

Burleson isn't a slugger

“blown away”

No GM ever: Hey, will you take our #2 starter for your slow fat platoon DH/1B?

Bloom: Nope, if you want him you gotta blow me away.

Donovan has value for trade IMO. The others you listed are more to complete a trade package. Walker may have zero value as he looks like a total colossal bust. But to get return you have to consider others such as Winn and Burley. Hopefully work out NTC for Arenado, WC and Gray. It will be painful to move some of these guys. But all have to be on the table. You have to pay to play. We need broad strokes not surgical moves.

#1
Donny

Could bring back a solid #3 in a solo deal, even better if coupled w/?????

#2
Noot

Could bring back a low end #3/4 in a solo deal, solid #3 if coupled w/????

#3
VSII

No solo trade value above a solid prospect but value given his superior defense & base stealing ability

#4
Walker & Gorman have little more than prospect return value

#5
Church

Has no trade value, JAG

NADO is simply a salary dump where BDWJr has to eat at least 50% of his deal for a lotto prospect

What do you guys expect to get for Donovan and Burleson? They are the best two hitters on the team with a few more years before free agency. How do you replace them? I would rather trade Winn and get a center fielder who can hit. Wetherholt and Saggesse are good enough to replace him. I would also trade Walker, Scott and Gorman but I doubt they would bring enough back

Donovan, Burleson, Herrera and Contreras are our best hitters. A team so offensively challenges shouldn't trade them.

Yes, it would be nice to keep those four in the process of obtaining needed starting pitching.

Unfortunately.... it usually comes down to:
The guys you would prefer to KEEP will bring MORE in return.
So...it can be a tough call on pulling the trigger or not?
Happens every year to most teams.
