My opinion is that despite not being the biggest problem,
Marmol is not part of the solution.
Still, a message should be sent to the players that sloppy baserunning, throwing to the wrong base, terrible at-bats need cleaning up.
Marmol never seems to have a sense of urgency, and it’s past time for these things to be taken seriously.
Fire him and replace with Bloom’s choice, hopefully someone with experience and playoff success.
If Bloom keeps Marmol this year I’ll assume it’s because DeWitt doesn’t want to eat Marmol’s salary, even though in the grand scheme it’s paltry.
But I can’t see a good reason to keep him. I don’t think “The players like him” is a good reason considering the team’s sloppy play.

My stance after 4 years is that he is a below average Manager.
He’s not the worst ever or anything so dramatic or terrible.
I just think we can do better.
Of course we also need to develop/acquire better talent in certain areas.
Bloom has a lot on his plate. And if he sticks with Marmol(at least at the start) I’ll still be tuned in with optimism for 2026!

If Oli is not fired:
Tom: “Say good night, Attendance.”
Dick: “Good night, Attendance.”

I tend to agree.

No

Because it will be OBVIOUS that BDWJr made the call since he see's 2026 as another throw-away season and isn't going to pay Oli to sit at home.

Did Bloom run over your dog? Steal your old lady? Kick your tail in a bar fight? It seems personal with you. No one knows whether he'll have success here but you seem to have a personal dislike bordering on nasty.

this -- if bloom is forced to keep the marmot it will likely be on orders from DeWallet.

Bloom has a lot on his plate just rearranging the roster.
He may not want to bite off too much in his first offseason?

I agree, but the correct thing for DeWitt to do is pay Oli his salary to work a lesser job in the minors, and let Bloom hire a new manager of his own choice.

As someone excited for him to take over I can comfortably say I will immediately turn on him if he decides to keep Oli

There's a bigger picture. If Bloom doesn't fire Marmol, then he's either powerless or flat-out stupid. In either case, nothing has changed, and we're looking at more years wasted to stubborness.

100%

I've been saying the same for many months.

Yes, me too, but the FO has telegraphed through story leaks that Oli will be back. We shall see. His salary is peanuts. Even with tightwad ownership, I cannot believe that salary is the issue that would keep Marmol as manager. MO will be gone. None of us know Bloom's opinion of Oli. We speculate, but none of us know. We will have the answer shortly after the WS most likely. I doubt there is an announcement either way right after the end of the regular season. But, I don't know squat:) I just have my opinion that Oli should have been gone a long time ago and some good manager and pitching coach hired who can tighten up fundamental play on this team, and have a much better in game and day to day feel about how to use the players we have most effectively. ... and my opinion is worth squat to Bloom and ownership:)

CT does not depict/represent the Cardinals fan base.

Thank God
The acres of empty red seats at Busch Stadium would seem to refute your hypothesis. Get a clue, moran.
