Lucic got more than a fair amount of attention from Doug, kind of bugged me. I think he has an inside advantage/chance.

I've been wrong before but I just don't like this idea.

I know it's not something that can be quantifiably proven; but NHL players are constantly saying that there's a comfort factor with an enforcer type around. If there's any truth to that, I can see the appeal of giving Lucic a spot(assuming he has anything left in the tank). He's a monster of a human being(6'4", 230lbs) and has always been the type to throw down at the drop of a hat. I think there's more value in that than there is in a guy like Texier.

DA also said "'we did not get pushed around last year" but then hedged on it and for me I thought he was right without hedging but yes my opinion might change knowing whose place Lucic is taking.

From every angle, we are learning that Armstrong has failed in acquiring players in the draft. All that you have to do is compare Holloway and Broberg to any player that the Blues drafted recently. Maybe Snuggerud will impress greatly, but it is not certain at this point. Armstrong was given plenty of chances to provide a glowing review of our prospects in this interview, and it didn't happen. Not close.

This team ultimately goes where our young prospects go, and just listen to Army. He glows when speaking about Holloway and Broberg. The others? Meh.

I'll be happy when the draft aspect of the roster build shows significant progress.

Always enjoy listening to Army, and like most intelligent Blues fans, I'm very excited for camp to start and see how this team shakes out. Lots of young talent coming in, and those young players who don't make the team will push others. LGB!

The part of the presser I found interesting was when Army confirmed Jiricek is AHL eligible and the internal discussions they’re having regarding where he should go. Talked of talking to Jiricek’s agent, Allan Walsh, about it too. Found it telling that he said Walsh talked about wanting Jiricek to have stability, not be sitting a lot etc. Seemed pretty clear to me Walsh was advocating for Jiricek being sent back to Brantford, which I’d agree with. He’s missed a lot of time the last 2 seasons so one final year of Jrs where he can be a top dog and get a ton of minutes should be good for him.

I think Neighbours (2020 8th in Goals scored) is going to do a lot of damage in his draft class, can Kyrou catch Tage Thompson for 6th in goals scored in the '16 class?

None of that matters because Snuggerud is underperforming based on draft position. You don't get to pick and choose. Only smelly does.

I like the mention of Mailloux having a strong offseason and Holloway being the hardest worker or the team. Hope both those guys have great years along with the rest of the team.
