Texas' and Iowa St's positions are a joke. Mizzou is better than both. Indiana has no business being inside the top 20.

I've watched a lot of games this season and Miami looks the best to me. Penn St is solid, Oregon is very good. Everyone else is behind those three.

I agree on Texas and Iowa as they will be nowhere near these spots when the dust settles. Indiana on the other hand is legit. The reason they went 11-1 last year was how they play in the trenches. Their coach built that team the right was and will be a major headache for a illinois next week.

Indiana is a top 10 if not top 5 team. They annihilated Illinois.

Maybe Illinois majorly sucks? Hard to say until Indiana plays a better team and plays a road game. Same for a lot of teams right now. Those preseason rankings for many are not reliable.

Yeah there was a guy announcing that game tonight who said they shouldn't have any polls out until after September.

Problem is the idea for the networks is it creates buzz in August even before they season starts and gets fans juiced .

Another example of a bogus preseason ranking: Clemson, blown out today at home by Syracuse and now 1-3 and out of the playoffs already.

Numbers 9, 16 and 22 lost on Saturday so my guess is Mizzou will move up two spots (passing #16 Utah and #22 Auburn but still behind Illinois). Slight chance they pass last week’s #21 Michigan that barely slipped by unranked Nebraska. It really doesn’t matter to me where they are ranked as long as they keep their winning streak alive. Right now they are on a seven game win streak and 25-5 their last 25 games.
