They were the ones who got touchdowns. I’d maybe write 150-200 words on lined writing paper and my dad would photocopy them. I would then take them door to door selling them for 15 cents per game report but you could get a deal, 6 reports for 90 cents. That is basically what this list is.

Everybody knows everyone else’s weaknesses and can explain them. I have weaknesses. Gonna focus on those first and get ready for a fun season starting with this prospects game tomorrow after work

Yes yes…look forward to watching/discussing hockey. I just bought my kid a flames hat which hurt my heart a bit.

Do you have a 2nd or another team you watch/follow?

I have tried over the years. I always had a soft spot for Montreal in the east. I would probably adopt Seattle but I need to encounter someone who’s really into it and the only hockey friendly folk I’ve met are Local Team fans. A guy I talk about film noir with is a Canes fan so I adopted them for a couple playoffs recently. It’s difficult but having your kid bring into a team would have to help I would think. Like they share your enjoyment of the sport and that’s precious to you so you can get into what they’re into

Yeah o don’t influence his choice at all. All his lil bros are flames fans so it’s fun to watch.

Funny you say Habs because they will be the team I watch 2nd most this year. So many cool storylines

The fact they’re a parallel trajectory team to the Blues at the moment unfortunately means this upcoming year will be riddled with bad faith here whenever the Blues comparatively stumble. I have no appetite for that imminent commentary I just want to enjoy them both if possible.

Doesn’t land on me. It’s the long game not what Mails/Boldy do in year one.

The Habs fans have a ton to look forward to. Demi/Boldy and a bigger skilled backend.

Should be an exciting year one way or another.

Even before that mutual rebalancing trade I saw the two teams on similar trajectory, but the trade definitely brings it into being “Blues have to win or lose that trade or Blues fan pride is harmed” (which I don’t buy into).

Yeah same. Blues top 6/9 have been together longer. Backend too. Gonna take more time for the Habs to gel … in theory anyways.

Pronman didn’t mention Kaskimaki either. Army specifically singled out Kaskimaki as a player he likes and is close and Pronman doesn’t even include him in his “could play some games” category.

If you want to know about Blues prospects, just ask those of us here that actually watch them.

Here’s what the writer had for Stancl in his “Fallers” section:
Jakub Stancl – Stancl joined Springfield for ten games last season and did not find much success in that time. He only registered one assist and didn’t really provide much of an impact. He was not as high-volume of a shooter as in Kelowna and does not provide too much in the way of advantages for his teammates. Stancl does possess a hard shot and can launch pucks on a one-timer, so there is still some offensive game to work with. Hopefully a full season in Springfield will only provide good things, but the Blues will need to see more from Stancl, as he has shown in international competition.
It’s hogwash. Poppycock. Stancl led his Jr team in scoring, led the entire WJC in goals, one point off the tournement lead in points…and this guy focuses in on the 10 games he played with the T-birds at the end of the season? The AHL doesn’t provide time on ice stats but I watched a few of those games. I’d bet he averaged less than 10 min/game in those few games. They played him in a few games down the stretch because they could and because it’d help him get a good sense of what the pro game is like so he had a better idea on what to work on this summer to get to that level. Who cares he only put up 1 pt in limited minutes in those 10 games?

It’s another example of someone stat watching and trying to come up with a narrative based on a stat sheet without knowing the context behind it.
LOL, Hogwash and Poppycock... Cool those jets brother, you might get banned.. BTW, I like this version of STL/MN, calling out the wanna-be's.

Agree on Stancl, that was a PACKED roster looking to make the playoff's, and the fact they gave him 10 games is very telling in how they feel about him.

The other thing I noticed about his ranking is how high he has Jiricek. Don't get me wrong the kid has legit talent, but his recovery from a major injury is still in question and he did exactly tear it up last year on the ice.

Just my 2 cents.

Agree on your take with regards to this writer.

Our prospect pool on the defensive side is chocked full of intriguing defenders who all bring something to the table;

Lindstein - Potential top pairing Swiss Army knife vibe
Ralph - A true Mauler that's very well rounded (talent wise) with a solid IQ
Fischer - IMO might be the best skating defender in the OHL
McIssac - Big kid who can flat out fly on the ice
Koromyslov - Flat out STUD season in the KHL against men

There are a couple of others that peak my interest, but those five all have a path to reach the NHL if they continue to grow, and only Lindstein was taken in the first round.

I was going to go with the word codswallop in honor of Rubeus Hagrid but then decided against it.

And yep. Springfield had absolutely no need for Stancl as I think they already had around 15 forwards on the roster anyway. So them playing him in 10 games as one of their 12 forwards dressed showed me he did well enough in practice to at least get minimal pro minutes. The fact he didn’t score in those minimal minutes doesn’t mean a dang thing to me. He was finishing out his 19 yr old season playing in the 2nd best pro league in the world.

And agree on Jiricek too. He has all the ingredients to be a quality NHL d-man but at the end of the day, he still only put up 12 pts in another injury riddled season and still comes with a lot of question marks. This will be a big season for him. His Jr team is starting to look absolutely stacked so hopefully that can help him have a good season. I’ve already got tickets to a couple Czech WJC games here this December so looking forward to seeing him and obviously many other top prospects then.

Will leave here in a few hours to head to the cities to catch tonight’s prospect game against the Wild as well. Looking forward to seeing how they all look.
