OLI BALL FEVER !!!!!!! The nightmare lives on!
What are your specific criticisms besides he takes a bad picture?
Hes a pud that isn't qualified to manage a team like the St. Louis Cardinals. A middling .500 manager who needs no pressure to win games should be in another level.
you don't think he is even qualified to manage a bad team??
Juan has issues
Yeah. Issues with incompetence. It shouldn't be accepted by ownership or the fans. The front office reeks of it. Anyone who accepts it just has low expectations.

Last night Miko-loss was pitching well. A scrappy hitter fouled off a lot of good pitches, but the umpire squeezed an extra ball or two in the AB and what should have been a strikeout turned into a walk. The next batter hit a grounder up the middle for a base hit. 2 on 2 out. Instead of considering that MM was still pitching well, his paint-by-numbers card says take him out. So he took him out for a guy who a) has not performed well and worse, b) hadn't had time to warm up sufficiently. That led, like it usually does, to a walk. (Anyone want to look up the stat for walking the first batter faced?) Then they started hammering him. 2-run lead to 2-run deficit. Ballgame. So typical of Ollie's bullpen management.

OLI BALL FEVER !!!!!!! The nightmare lives on!
What are your specific criticisms besides he takes a bad picture?
He’s at his worst when it counts and there’s any semblance of pressure. No natural feel for the game and very poor situational awareness. Way too high tolerance for losing, views it as good teaching moments.
Like last night, it felt like the first meaningful game in months and could’ve put us in striking distance of a playoff spot and he pulls MM at 77 pitches when he’s pitching his best game of the year and is currently in a rare groove, and starts making head scratcher moves to blow the game.
Seriously? You think pulling lizard puke who was [defecating] the bed, was a mistake?!!
Cards hitters were 0-1 with RISP, and only had 2 LOB.
Bats nowhere to be found. 3 hits for the game
I acknowledged I missed where he was pulled and the circumstances surrounding the move, though by many accounts he wasn’t actually [defecating] the bed.
Whether that was a good recent example or not, I stand by my overall assessment that he’s not the guy to lead this team going forward for the reasons cited. I think you’re going to see the new POBO feels the same in a few short weeks.
If I’m wrong, feel free to hand me my crow dinner. I’m not too proud to eat it and say I was wrong.

Under a competent front office, the Cardinals should never have a bad team. This is Mozeliak's failure. A better front office acquires a better roster. And hires a more capable manager.
I am indifferent to marmol…..but I dare say he would be more “capable” with better players…

The only disagreement I have, is the comment about being within striking distance of a playoff spot. The Cardinals would have to win out, and would still not make the playoffs, and we know they are not going to win out.

The Mets have been known to blow chances in the past and we still have a head to head with Cincy. If they pulled to within 3 (or 3.5?) I doubt they would’ve had to completely win out, but would have had to win a lot and especially the right games. It would’ve been a longshot for sure but I could’ve lied to myself a little that I was watching meaningful baseball lol.

Good points but frankly I have no problem with pulling MM. that guy couldn’t throw 100 pitches if his life depended on it. Sure there are exceptions when he does well but if I were the manager he would be on a short leash every time he pitched. Now if you want to critique his bullpen selection last night there is an argument he made a mistake.
I’m not an Oli fan. Primarily I don’t like his lack of experience and what looks like a lack of feel for the game. You might say pulling MM shows a lack of feel but again I would have done the same thing.
What problem with bullpen selection? I went to bed with Cards leading 2-0 knowing that the best of their pen had been used 2 or 3 nights in a row and we were likely to lose.
Poor situational awareness is just critique speak for lost the game. Surprise when our team is a .500 club playing against a +.500 club in their own ballpark with great pitching.

Maybe there are managers out there who would do better with this team, but I kinda doubt it. The players play for him, haven't given up and want to win. The rest is fluff.

Mozeliak has proven to be an incompetent buffoon.
If Bloom proves to be the same, he’ll deserve the same criticism that Mozeliak receives.
On the other hand, if he proves to be the executive I think he will be, he’ll deserve the kudos that go with it.
But he should get 3 years minimum to show one or the other.

I agree, Bomber. Mozeliak got 17 years. About 8 too many.
