Started off hating the show. It has grown on me.

Better than Randy K. Thats a FACT

Unpopular opinion: Bernie was the best. Always brought great baseball analytics.

I don’t get that here in Baton Rouge but I can tell you local sports talk for the most part is headed by a bunch of idiots. So many have never played the sport they set around and critique. Sort of like watching ESPN.
TMA is the next step further into talk radio pointlessness. As far as I can tell, they barely even mention sports. They mostly just blather about nothing and read tweets people (probably their producers) send them about how terrible they are. It's basically a call-in show from 30 years ago, minus the callers.

Sorry it’s not your cup of tea, but it’s a popular show that’s been around 20 years. They’ve clearly got a following.
I understand that but the Fast Lane does it in a way that is always entertaining. TMA is the opposite of entertaining. It is juvenile and awful.
BK's show and the fastlane are the same show every single day. Their takes are awful besides Rivers. It's hard to listen for more than 20 minutes because all they do is rahash the exact same things.

There's a reason that TMA has been on the airwaves for 20 years and has a massive following. It's entertaining, its lighthearted, and it's not repetitive.

Also, the interviews that TMA does are vastly supperior to the cupcake questions that the rest of the shows ask all of their guests.

Yeah TMA definitely isn’t for me either. Just too juvenile which is unfortunate because I think McKernan has some interesting insights and stories.

TMA has been on for 20 years, but if I'm not mistaken, the show used to be completely different and nothing like its current iteration. It USED to be Bernie, Smallmon, Karraker, and others as the show progressed, and the main emphasis was always on mature, in-depth, sports talk and interviews.

The balloon party started in 2019 or something with the one hour slot between the 2 major shows. And somehow, despite the fact I and many others thought it was horrendous, gained enough of a cult following that it now took over for Karraker when his ratings tanked?

I agree with most it's just not very entertaining and definitely not focused enough on sports. They do have good, lighthearted and fun interviews fairly often, but its the endless filler with (bleep) McKernan's frequent raising his voice to a yell as if he's some kind of shock jock, and then there's the neverending talk about Jackson coming from rich parents and his frequent trips to the Hamptons and the fact he loves basketball and basically can't stand baseball and hockey which, of course, is absurd since those are our only 2 Big 4 sports.

Those that actually listen to it, I have to ask, what do you actually enjoy about it? Like others said it's typically 4 hours of teenage-like hijinks.

It's for the young and uninformed and there's lot more out there than you think.

"Young and uninformed" are more valuable to advertisers than "old and think they're informed." It's a business decision.

I believe it's currently their highest rated show, and I don't mind it. Its so long obviously they have to fill time with other topics. Should they talk about jordan Walker for half your average workday?

My issue isn't that they talk about things that aren't sports. My issues is those topics are are only entertaining for someone with the maturity level of a 12 year old.

Likewise. Young people are not necessarily uninformed.
