13 games, 10 1/3rd IP, 9.58 ERA, 6.1 BB/9, 1.74 HR/9
Melville posted that we should extend him for 4 years/$17M per. Ha ha ha.
He has a major problem with relievers as he once said, "we can swoop in and grab Holland at 3 years $50M and pretty much call it a winter. Holland will go to whomever first offers him 3 yrs at around 13M per."

Actually, it's not. If this doesn't turn around, Mets GM will say "we owe him one" because of the Helsley deal, and will likely impact future deals with their organization.
Not saying Bloom will rollover on a future deal because of this, but that's just how it works.
(bleep) all over that nonsense...not only is this 100% stupidity (GMs are grown men, they know the risk), but going by your logic they still owe us for the Keith Hernandez trade, a debt that can never be repaid.

I think Chaim will bring him back next year. Seems like being put in a big market might not be for him

And that was like Strike 99 on Melville.

He throws the most hittable straight 100mph in MLB history, it’s straight as a string with overhand delivery, and he can’t locate it on edges, up or down, in or away. He just throws it.
His slider is his out pitch, but when he has to throw it for strikes it gets pummeled.
He needs another pitch obviously. He's in love with a slider that's not that good. And, as you said, that fastball has no movement. A changeup or splitter seems to be in order.

It’s not the worst idea to bring back Helsley on a short term “prove it” deal. I don’t know what’s going on with him but his numbers are terrible. Helsley had struggles here at times but nothing like he’s going through now. No need to throw crazy dollars at him. He will sign a prove it deal somewhere. Maybe a large market just isn’t for him??

I haven't played baseball for decades, but back when I did play, it was much harder to make a fast pitch break than a slower pitch. That's just a rule. Like physics.
So is it even possible to bend a 100 MPH fastball?
Yes, it is very possible to attain, 2 seamers run arm side and sink, you can cut it glove side, or lower arm angle causes movement.
Helsley fastball is like hitting off the old Iron Mike pitching machine. straightforward 4 seamer with no horizontal movement, stays on the same plane, he gets very little swing and miss on that pitch, and when it's squared by hitter, it flies.

I'm not saying it makes sense or should happen. But it does.
They're men doing who understand the positions their counterpart is in and like any trade partner, it's best to deal with someone you can trust. No one wants to be a trade partner with someone who has a history of fleecing people. You think they're robots who just go around trying to extract everything from every trade they can and their counterpart be d*mned? Who would want to trade with you in the future if that's the way it happened?
If we're both car dealers and I sold you a Ferrari that turned out to be a lemon, wouldn't it impact your decision making the next time I tried to make a deal with you?
Again, this isn't the say-all-be-all but you have to remember, they're not robots.

Wow.
So you think Bloom will intentionally tank a possible future deal with the Mets because “that’s how it works” despite the clumsy attempt to say he wouldn’t?
Sorry you’re wrong. That’s not just how it works.

The Mets may have to DFA him for their own good. He is useless. And I don't think it's a stretch to say that he may be looking at a $1 or $2 million prove it deal for next year.
lol - he will get closer to 10 than 1 or 2
lol okay, especially if he keeps gettin’ it done!

omg you idiots are reading too much into it. I'm saying when you deal with someone, it doesn't matter what industry you're in, if you get burned badly on a trade with someone, you might want something more in return the next go around. Not "you have to" or he's going to say "that's how it works."
This isn't sh*t that gets written in ink on trade agreements, it's just how trade relationships works. Read about the history of baseball and GMs. You're reading into it too literally. Do some freakin' google searches about trade history between GMs. It's not ME saying that's how it works, I'm saying that's what happens.
Anyways, I'm done trying to explain something this simple. lol

Hey you’re the one who said “That’s just how it works”.
Then you say “it’s not ME saying that’s how it works”.
Well yes it was.
And your entire premise is mistaken.
