A fitting end to the Mo-ran legacy .desertrat23 wrote: ↑02 Sep 2025 22:20 pmVery true.Banner29 wrote: ↑02 Sep 2025 21:23 pmUnfortunately it isn’t always that easy in the minds of millionaires/billionaires, who often like to find payback for those that have wronged them. No matter how irrational and further damaging it may be.desertrat23 wrote: ↑02 Sep 2025 21:11 pmDon’t think anyone’s surprised, but if they are I hope it’s pleasantly so. Only way DeWitt will learn his lesson.

Ballpark Village is no doubt taking a hit as well.cbcloud wrote: ↑02 Sep 2025 22:35 pm ...Tickets sold is only one part of the total income stream of the organization. The "break-even" point, where income equals expenses is probably a closely-guarded secret. And it varies somewhat from season to season because the income streams and expenses vary also.
The apparent number of empty seats probably does not affect profits as much as it might appear to do. Owning a MLB team is a lucrative business, and the Cardinal organization has been very good to the owners.
Ball Park Village might get his attention first

Re: 17,002
I wonder how many season tickets were sold. They won't drop below whatever that number is.
Re: 17,002
And yet, a ticket-price-increase is the solution to all of their problems? This would definitely merit an "F" in Marketing 101.

There ticket prices are high to start with
I live 8 hours away. Would like to make a trip next year
May catch them i Cincinnati. Ticket prices cheaper there
Re: 17,002
I think those green seats include food. Is it possible nobody wants a free meal and at least some kind of entertainment?

Last night was pitiful.
I was there and almost felt like I was watching a covid era game, lots of social distancing.
Hardly any of my customer's are calling for tickets, I'm going to cut down to two (from four) since Dewitt is making it clear this is the kind of team we're going to see for the next couple seasons.

But Bill says baseball isn’t all that profitable, remember?cbcloud wrote: ↑02 Sep 2025 22:35 pm ...Tickets sold is only one part of the total income stream of the organization. I went to see the Padres when they were in town. Decent crowd for a Thursday night. But a majority of the fans paid very little attention to the game. Lots of movement and phone play. I feel it's become more of a social outing than a baseball crowd.rockondlouie wrote: ↑03 Sep 2025 08:48 am Last night was pitiful.

They know some will attend regardless of what level of product is on the field. Guess they figure they can gouge the ones who do show. The DeWitts and Mozeliak really seem to have disdain for the fans.

Why do these idiots pay to go to the game then sit there on their phones.

I smell a rat here with 17,002 as the # of tickets sold. Huzzah. There has to be more than 17,000 season tickets purchased for this year. A lot more. I’m surprised no one else has mentioned this.
