Pallante has been awful post ASG but in the first half he was pretty much the definition of an average SP--5-5, 4.49, 18 GS. With better run support and a stronger D behind him his numbers conceivably could have been better. iow, a valuable guy.

So I have a multi-part question. Is Pallante hurt and if so, why does the team keep giving him the ball? And if he's not hurt, what steps have been taken to identify and fix whatever he's been doing wrong?

Taylor is 30 is it gonna hurt his development? , Matthews, Weiss, Cornwell, Munoz, Mosqueda? Why are they stuck behind Pallante at this point?

Let me ask you this. Do you continue to send Pallante out every rotation and mandate that he go at least 5 no matter how bad he does?
Nope. I just wanted to hear who people would like to call up. I agree Pallante sucks, but pissing and moaning about it without who should take his place was my only question.

We can cry all we want but we should offer solutions
Did I not just give you options. I could add a few if you need.

rockondlouie wrote: 31 Aug 2025 14:10 pm Why is he still getting the ball every fifth game?

How has he not been demoted to either the pen', Memphis or DFA'd?

He's NOT a runway pitcher, the Cardinals know who he is and what he can't do and that's be a starter in MLB.

No more Pallante!
They're playing for draft position, they need as many Pallante starts as they can get.

If we miss the playoffs we are in the lottery already. And the fact that its a lottery instead of reserve order of the standings was done to prevent teams from tanking in September for draft order. It doesn't work that well. Just win what you can and play the best players with the highest ceilings and try to get a little momentum/experience going into 2026. The lotto will take care of itself.

So we could be 5 games over .500 with an average pitcher in Pal's place. 10+ games over .500 with a good pitcher.

They need to change his mechanics- get rid of the sling shot motion - too many moving parts in his current wind up to maintain any consistency.

Arm needs to drop just below his shoulder and keep the wrist and ball at ear height as he starts his delivery vs below his waist.

The current sling shot wind up may also be tipping pitches- get rid of it.

How does that work out for the Bulls every year? Just give yourself the best chance to have the best pick possible.

IDK - the Bulls aren't in MLB. But doing that every year turns us into the Pirates. We will never draft enough to build a 100 win team internally. And if we tank we will have no fans in the stands. And if we have no fans at all, there will be no commitment to ever spend, just to swap our few star young players before they get expensive for even younger prospects and the death spiral continues.

We need to forget the idea that losing is the path to winning. Its not. Its just the path to short term $ savings for BDW.

You should familiarize yourself with the Bulls because that seems to be how you want the Cardinals run and BDW seems to agree too.
