This is not the time to do it. We don’t need to mess up another high end prospect pushing them to the outfield right before coming to the majors.
So what do the Cardinals do with Donovan, Gorman and Saggese in addition to Wetherholt for two infield positions? Also Arenado. But I'm assuming he won't be a Cardinal in 26. Seems to me, there's an infield logjam.Stlcardsblues wrote: ↑29 Aug 2025 18:06 pmThis is not the time to do it. If you want to do it, let him get comfortable in the Majors and try it in a few years.
there is no logjam when you're the #1 pick and Top 10 prospect in all of baseball. JJ takes precedent...he'll play 2B or 3B over Saggese, Gorman, Donovan.Shady wrote: ↑29 Aug 2025 18:09 pmSo what do the Cardinals do with Donovan, Gorman and Saggese in addition to Wetherholt for two infield positions? Saggese is a bench utility guy going into 2026. I do believe Arenado is moved at this point. Two of Donny, Noot, Gorman, Burly need traded and likely will beShady wrote: ↑29 Aug 2025 18:09 pmSo what do the Cardinals do with Donovan, Gorman and Saggese in addition to Wetherholt for two infield positions? Who would want the damaged goods and poor hitting Nado?JohnnyMO wrote: ↑29 Aug 2025 18:19 pmSaggese is a bench utility guy going into 2026. I do believe Arenado is moved at this point. Nootbaar, Contreras and, possibly, Gorman are the ones needing to be traded for a bona fide starting pitcher and power hitting corner outfielder.. Let's see how Bloom handles this.JohnnyMO wrote: ↑29 Aug 2025 18:19 pmSaggese is a bench utility guy going into 2026. I do believe Arenado is moved at this point. Cardinals may have to eat most of his salary, but I think they’ll do what it takes to get him off the roster. Where he goes, hard to say. Somewhere that is okay with a defense first 3B veteran.scoutyjones2 wrote: ↑29 Aug 2025 18:21 pmWho would want the damaged goods and poor hitting Nado?JohnnyMO wrote: ↑29 Aug 2025 18:19 pmSaggese is a bench utility guy going into 2026. You can put Conteras being traded next to JJ in centerfield in the fun for you to think about but not happening in 2026 file so may as well accept things as they are.Shady wrote: ↑29 Aug 2025 18:23 pmNootbaar, Contreras and, possibly, Gorman are the ones needing to be traded. Explore trading an infielder for much needed pitching. There doesn’t need to be a logjam.Shady wrote: ↑29 Aug 2025 18:09 pmSo what do the Cardinals do with Donovan, Gorman and Saggese in addition to Wetherholt for two infield positions? Also Arenado. Wrong! I care! I think Shady should post a thread every day that has his complete list of current foes. I’m always on the edge of my seat waiting to see who he foe’s next.
