Reading that line ... 'there won't be a lot of Gm-speak ...' certainly will be welcomed by Cardinal fans. With the previous POBO, it sure seemed like Mo was all about that and he came off as being smarter than the fans and did not find it important to communicate to the fans.

Very excited to see what Bloom can do, just hope BDWJr doesn't hamper him w/a low (under $160M) payroll.
Same here. I’m hoping for a quick turnaround but it won’t happen without a decent payroll. It can be done with a lower budget but would take a while. All those misses over the years comes with a cost if they want to compete sooner than later.

I saw a sign at a mechanic’s shop that said, “we do 3 types of work…good, fast, and cheap. You can pick any two.

No joke! He’s going to have to be a magician! How much time is he going to get and how much time will he need to make this organization be competitive again. Because they are a mess right now.

If ownership keeps their nose out of the GM position, he will do a good job.

I highly doubt that will happen unfortunately.

BDW has too much influence for my taste.

Own the team, don’t run it old man

The key will be how much will DeWitt spend? Reports say he's not spending this winter. Hopefully that changes in 2027. But I think these current changes are in preparation for a sale.

I dont think DeWitt opens the wallet this winter. He will claim poverty status after fans didn't rush out to watch the [nonsense] he and Mo fielded this year.

But hopefully, Bloom earns his trust and old Bill realizes he won't squander $ like Mozeliak did.
Oh yea Juan

He's already got his excuses lined up:

-he'll blame the fans for not showing to his, Mo & Oli's shildt show
-lockout coming in 2027 so why worry about the 2026 season

And shouldn't have to "earn" Dewitt's trust since he's NOT MO who wasted hundreds of millions of payroll money!

Me too CW

I'm looking for a 1980-Whitey like roster makeover hoping Bloom takes a chainsaw to all the players on this team and down below who are JAG!

Too many mediocre players on the roster now, too many average players for too few positions.

I've said for some time Bloom can walk (re-tool the farm system which he's done) & chew gum (still build a competitive major league roster) as long as BDWJr doesn't completely turn off the payroll spigot.

One thing is sure, it’s a low bar for anyone to replace the Moe-Ron. He is such an unknowledgeable, whiny, double-speaking geek. A disingenuous fool. But we all know that, at least those of us who will admit it. Can’t wait for that (child born out of wedlock) to hit the road. Bill, be sure and leave plenty of room on the ”runway” (puke) for Moe to get out of here ASAP. Now the only question is did Moe tell Bloom to be sure and assemble a new team with at least 4 shortstops?

He wasn't smarter than this fan.

I predicted this downward spiral for years and named the reasons step by step.

I agree that Bloom shouldn't have to earn BDW's trust. But the guy lost millions due to Mo's lazy and idiotic signings. BDW may be hesitant after that mess. Of course, he allowed it to continue.

Won't happen but Dewitt should give Bloom the same payroll he gave Mo ($175+M range) and see what he can do with it!

And we're in 100% agreement, Dewitt is the one who allowed Mo to waste that much payroll since he (Dewitt) is in on every single move.

Do you think he just trusted Mo that much? Its really odd to keep granting more power to a guy that pitiful. Mo wanted to claim free agents didn't want to sign in StL. But Harper and Scherzer both had interest and Mo made no effort. Was it laziness and inability to attract talent or did BDW tell him he wasn't interested in paying up?
