Palm Beach 0, St Lucie 0 ; Bot 1st
Tanner Franklin ~ 1 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 1 K ...18 pitches, 10 strikes. The hit was a joke....grounder hit the 2B bag...ricocheted into shallow CF.
2 ground outs, 1 grounder for a hit.
High 90's FB, low 90's Cutter....that's it so far

That was pretty. Even the hit off him was a bit lucky as it hit the second base bag as the SS was about to field it, although he may have been safe anyway.

Ranile Rodriguez just got hit by a pitch - on the top of his head. It was a high breaking ball, and Rainy stooped down and bam - top of the helmet. I've never seen that before.

Franklin just K'd a very bad hitter....with a down the middle fastball.
That doesn't work in the majors.

the 3rd K in a row was much better imo.
steady diet of cutters in the low 90's....then a high cheese at 96 to get the whiff.
if he ever gets a slider or a curve...he's deadly.
edit...and he throws a slider to end the inning
....first slider I've seen from him.
Did he throw more than once?

Franklin looks fantastic. The third K in the 2nd inning was on a breaking ball, but the other Ks he has blown by people.
