“Through 65 home games, the Cardinals have generated a total attendance of 1,873,875, based on the metric of tickets sold. Right now, that’s an average attendance of around 28,829. If that pace remains similar through the regular season’s end, the Cardinals are on pace for a season attendance of roughly 2,335,137.”
He also explained how this year’s trend would represent a historic low point for the franchise.
“That would mark the team’s lowest for a non-pandemic-restricted season since 1995, when the Cardinals drew a season attendance of 1,756,727. That season? The Cardinals only played 72 home games due to MLB scheduling arrangements out of a players’ strike and would have paced for around 1,976,318 in attendance.”

Yes…

There seems to be a lot of focus on dwindling attendance….

Oh I get it. Boycott the lousy .500 team that’s going through a transition year to allow younger players to mature - in order to show utter disgust.
It’s not a boycott….it’s a personal judgement that the entertainment value is less than the cost.

Not to pry, but how many other bad products do you buy?
How do you define “bad”, when half the ML teams have a worse record? And the Cards are only a few games behind in the wild card race. By the way, how did you like that home run by Church? And that home run by Contreras?

Apparently some people support DeTwit and Mo-ran despite mediocrity...real fans want the team to get better and be fun to watch.

Bloom can only do what Dewitt lets him do. Is he going to raise payroll or keep it the same or lower it? I think Dewitt will go cheap but we will see. I’m glad mo is going and think bloom can do a good job but I’m not some naive optimist that thinks he can work miracles if Dewitt goes cheap. You know more about cards front office than anyone here are they going to go cheap or cheaper again or spend?

Some moves don’t require a huge increase in payroll.
Like trading for a major leaguer in his pre-arbitration or arbitration years. But some posters only look at FA dollars
spent as a measure of commitment by the organization.

I have to admit that I have yet to make a game, but next week the weather looks go to make a game. I originally was going to make a couple of games in late April and then 3 or 4 in May. But it rained and rained and rained. No games. then in June the weather went from more rain to steaming hot, so again plans were canceled. So, I attend games because I am a Cardinal fan, and have been since the late '50. Which means I have seen many downs with some great mixed in ups.

It’s about a commitment to winning or building to be good. I can deal with it if they trade Donovan and burly for good young high upside players I’m all for it even if they are bad next season it’s a commitment to building a winner. If they keep them don’t sign anyone major to contribute and bring back Gorman and walker to play everyday hoping and praying they break out this season it’s a commitment to mediocrity again I can’t support that

And??
Agree. What’s the point?
The point, I believe, Cranny, is that ownership has run a first line franchise into the freaking ground in a stunningly short period of time.
Something like that.
Exactly....this is a completely different franchise....yadi stayed gone...Holliday just happened to change his mind...and Jimmy Edmonds said it cleary...it's not fun anymore...they don't make you feel like your wanted...it's not the same....it's not the same organization...and he is exactly spot on....ex players can see it and the fans can see it...

This ownership kept Mo way to long. The city made Mozo the clown shirts about him and they still stuck with him. I have watched them the least this year of any year. The big reason for that is management. They are not trying to win and they are not trying to rebuild. They should have traded more players both young and old at the deadline. I would rather see them be mediocre or fail trying than never really trying.
