Wrong Baez, the one at Springfield is the outfielder with the speed and power. The other is a stubby little infielder.

Blaze Jordan for Steven Matz could turn out to be a really good deal. That was a Bloom move, too. Bloom drafted Blaze when he was in Boston and is still high on him.Francis Park Thug wrote: ↑17 Aug 2025 16:39 pmMo made the deals. So in other words, don’t play him, but let’s see what the kids have. That is what I’m getting from the fan base. WowRosie's Rule wrote: ↑17 Aug 2025 20:17 pm Svanson looks legit - nasty stuff.
Saggase- long term serviceable utility player - can’t let him get over exposed offensively or defensively.
And when JJW makes an error or strikes out with the bases loaded, does he get cast off as well?RamFan08NY wrote: ↑17 Aug 2025 20:59 pmHe had a bad inning. Pitchers do the same thing all the time. One bad inning does not define ANY player.
I’ve come to realize most of the guys here are just cranky old dudes. They turn on these players all the time. The first time or two Weatherholt messes up, they will all pile on him too. Jordan may just be another Luken Baker. We shall see, I suppose.TXCardsFanX wrote: ↑17 Aug 2025 20:33 pm

Blaze Jordan is a hefty 1Bman. But, he's made a steady progression through the minors. He crushed AA pitching for 44 games this year, then was still doing great in AAA. He's hitting 0.122 in Memphis, BUT he's got 2 HRs and 12 RBIs in 12 games. It's also been 12 games.
It's worth noting he's played in 3 different STs and always hit. Albeit, those are small samples.
One of the few prospects we got that has good numbers. Also, not a Mo deal, so that makes me feel more optimistic.
Maybe he had one bad game... defensivelyRosie's Rule wrote: ↑17 Aug 2025 21:10 pm Actually Braun they should play the heck out of Saggese this season - absolutely, but to clarify, long term he appears to be a utility player who will struggle if overexposed.

real small sample size, but he is having a hard time gaining traction at MemphisTXCardsFanX wrote: ↑18 Aug 2025 07:22 amMaybe!freed5179 wrote: ↑17 Aug 2025 23:49 pmJordan may just be another Luken Baker. We shall see, I suppose.TXCardsFanX wrote: ↑17 Aug 2025 20:33 pm

But, Blaze has made it faster and performed better than Luken Baker. Blaze is 22. They are only similar because they are heavy set 1Bman. Otherwise, Baker's only strength is his HR power. Blaze isn't hitting HRs like Baker did, but he's getting more hits, doubles, striking out a LOT LESS. Blaze struggled in 2024, hitting only 0.261. To put that in perspective, Baker's minor league career average is 0.255 and he'(poop) under 0.250 5 of 7 seasons.
I'm not prognosticating Blaze to be a future star, but he's got real potential to make it.
Agreed. We are actually getting a nice, long look at Saggese. So far, he appears to be nothing special. A throw-in for a pitcher. Not the next Matt Carpenter.Rosie's Rule wrote: ↑17 Aug 2025 21:10 pm Actually Braun they should play the heck out of Saggese this season - absolutely, but to clarify, long term he appears to be a utility player who will struggle if overexposed.
