Not that I want to see Scott on the IL, but I hope this is true, and he is in St. Louis right now. Church on Sunday - appropriate.
Looks like he made it to STL. Haven't seen a lineup yet though... Sounds like batting 9th
I'll take a guess that he's starting in LF with Noot in CF
He's in CF.
no kidding!?! nice.. wouldn't have thought they'd throw him right in there immediately. will be interesting to watch

Just needed to wait until the 15th to not accrue a service year, so should be fine

Especially after a night game for Memphis (in Charlotte), with a day game in St. Louis

2 for 4 with a double and SB... so looks like he played the whole game

hopefully Scott is going to bunting school.. baffling
Reports are that last offseason the team talked to Scott about going to bunting school .. He returned to spring training and didn't look any different in practice in bunting attempts . Mo took him aside and asked
Mo: I thought you were going to bunting school this winter
Scott: I did , Mo ! I learned how the design and cut those banners for our Busch Stadium facades for the playoffs. If we make the postseason , hope you will put me as Bunting Manager for the decorations.
Mo: (rolling his eyes

Oh brother ! I knew you weren't the sharpest knife in the drawer ! This proves it !

Church?
Church!
VSII's been great on the basepaths but as they say, can't steal first.

About time. Scott is an offensive failure. Maybe Church can provide some much needed offense.

Is Church the latest Hail Mary?
Or is this Last Rites?
Too easy.
All kidding aside, a lot of folks have been wanting to see him get a look.
He has earned it.

he cant be much worse than scott who is approaching an OPS in the 5s
First, hope Church is really coming up, as haven't seen a link yet.
Second, VS2 is doing fine in his rookie year, with a +2.3 bWAR, which is only one of 3 Card position players with a +2, with Winn and Donovan being the other 2.
So assuming Church is really up, let's see what he can do with his first MLB opportunity.
One thing the Cards need more of imo is base stealing with the new rules, that aren't really that new anymore. Some teams, like the Brewers, Reds and Cubs have figured out there is now a bigger advantage with the SB.
A potential future OF including Church-VS2- Baez could provide some SB skill as another weapon to have available.
No, Argo is not doing fine...he's all glove, no stick. Learn to bunt and he will succeed. 77 OPS+ isn't doing fine

Mo was on KMOX this morning and described him as having excellent bat to ball skills. I thought I heard him say he had the best outfield arm in the organization.
Tom Ackerman asked him about JJ and Mo described him as an outstanding prospect. Was asked about seeing him with the big club this year and said you have to weigh keeping him in the organization as long as possible. It's my understanding though that after a certain date this year (maybe 9/1) his promotion wouldn't count toward a service year. Then actually said something along the lines he might be one that is tempted to bring him up but gave the impression maybe that's not his call. Of course Tom A. didn't press him (which can certainly be done politely) on any of it.

After august 15th service yeaR doesnt accrue.
Church has had a hell of a minor league season althoughbit kinda came out of nowhere. The last 2 years he had just a .700 ops in A+ and Aa then suddenly exploded this year tearing off cover in both AA and AAA. Hope it continues

Compared to 2024 some very strong progress by VS. Prais worthy coming
from the depths that he came from.
Increased his BB%, BA, OBP, OPS. and his OPS+ was 40 last season.
I'll be optimistic, probably hopeful my error, for continued improvements. Besides an
elite glove and speed doesn't have to start to have value. Room for both these players
on a roster. Church seems more of a Nootbaar replacement if he can do MLB to me.
