The board says no. Great effort on extraordinary plays should not go punished. Hit.

I get it, they're desperate for a player to market.Melville wrote: ↑16 Aug 2025 12:53 pmSTL is trying very, very hard to have Winn set or tie the record for fewest errors - and win the Gold Glove.rockondlouie wrote: ↑16 Aug 2025 12:32 pm Official scoring is a joke
I booed at last nights game when they failed to give Winn an obvious error on that play.![]()
All about the marketing.
Never about the game.
Toxic culture.
The only "hit" was the ball striking Winn.sikeston bulldog2 wrote: ↑16 Aug 2025 13:54 pm The board says no. Great effort on extraordinary plays should not go punished. Hit.
I do think the scoring is more lenient now days. But I think part of that is that they've come to realize that balls are being hit harder and fielding is not easy. Plus, I think players don't devote as much time to defense as they used to. I remember some old ball player saying that they used to be on the field playing pepper before games and you hardly ever see that anymore.sikeston bulldog2 wrote: ↑16 Aug 2025 12:37 pmBut you’re well aware of the saying. Do you think it factored more into scoring yesterday or in today’s game.CCard wrote: ↑16 Aug 2025 12:30 pm Don't and never have agreed with the saying. Most on this board couldn't field a dribbler much less a rocket. Balls take bad hops also. As LaRussa used to say, "They're men not machines." The mental errors are the worst to me. Even Ozzie missed one every once in a while.
Do you give Scott an error on Judge's homer?sikeston bulldog2 wrote: ↑16 Aug 2025 11:58 am Good morning.
Remember that saying. Used to be kind of a scoring rule. Now I don’t think it applies in the same manner.
Is there debate- get your glove on a batted ball, it’s an error.
And, anyone remember this unofficial saying.
For fun.
No. Great effort. Did it hit his glove even? Looked like it missed. Either way no error.WLTFE wrote: ↑17 Aug 2025 07:33 amDo you give Scott an error on Judge's homer?sikeston bulldog2 wrote: ↑16 Aug 2025 11:58 am Good morning.

last night's ruling may help his Gold Glove chances but it was an error all the wayrockondlouie wrote: ↑16 Aug 2025 12:32 pm Official scoring is a joke
