The Cards need to win this series after going 4-2 against the Dodgers and Cubs! I also don't get why Walker is sitting!

Agreed. Too often the Cardinals take a series against a playoff team and then lose one to a cellar dweller. Need to win the series or sweep here to keep wildcard hopes alive - the Mets are eventually going to win some games, have to gain ground while possible.

And, yeah, Walker sitting is frustrating. Would love to know the logic

He can't bear to have his hero Lars sitting out. Oli is going for the dumbest man in the room award.

He can't bear to sit Burleson. He's real man-crush.

Just when you think Marmot's functional stupidity has leveled out - BAM - he presents a new level. Sneak Attack. Cannot wait to see the clinical term for this shiny new level. Not even Marmot's Smart Water contract can help his MLB IQ.

The "Cooler" strikes again:

J. Walker last 4 GP:

.500 .500 .688 1.188

(Last 33 GP: .300 .342 .409 .751)

Good move Oli, let's sit him.
He'll never learn. Cools off the hot hitter and rewards a bum like Nootbaar. Walker had 1 of 4 hits last night, stole a base and scored the winning run. Reward: benched. What is he not getting about runway for Gorman and Walker? And they are both finally starting to hit.

Much gnashing of teeth over Oli's lineup.

Newsflash. It isn't Oli's lineup. It is handed to him PreGame.

Will the lineup even matter? The time bomb Miles will blow at any point.

Yep. Which is why when I said I didn't like it, I didn't blame him.

Any evidence of that besides what you feel in your gut?

This what I do not understand about Oli's managing. Why sit your hottest hitter ?

If that's the case, then Oli, Mo, and every other FO employee is saying bold-faced lies over and over and over, because they have repeatedly stated that Mo and Co create the roster but Oli decides the day-to-day lineup.

I find it highly unlikely they would perpetuate a lie like that for 4 years in a row. Someone, somewhere--as there are many disgruntled around this org as evidenced by certain interviews with recent former Stl Cardinals--would come out and publicly state this as it would be big news in Cardinal world.

Need more power from Burleson and Saggese. More like they've shown in the minors.

Gotta get nootbaar his at bats. :?
VSII as well (last 100 PA: .158 .245 .232 .477)

We certainly aren't going to miss Oli's idiotic lineups.
VS2 doesn’t hit and he plays every game. He rarely tries to bunts, although he’s not very good at that either.
